If you are rebuilding your 1995 motor anyway than do what I did and upgrade your intake manifold at the same time to the later horseshoe manifold. Mine is ported to match my ported Pottenger head. The newer manifold requires a different power steering pump and brackets and uses the much easier...
When I did the head swap on my XJ I ended up building 3 similar 12" high platforms out of an old 2x10 I had sitting in the rafters of my garage. Took me a couple hours to design and build.
^^^ Yup, just did this same manifold swap on my 95 XJ. The belt is soooooo much easier to adjust with this newer setup but the belt needs to be very tight or it will squeal when you use the a/c (as I found out).
^Did the same except I bought my harness from LMC truck. Not sure what I spent but the difference over the original setup was worth every penny plus another $100. What was Jeep thinking??

HD Offroad makes a great product and I have the same no-lift brackets on my XJ as well but I did end up exchanging one bracket because it was bent too tight to fit my shackles. Is it possible you just have a poor fit or the shackle bolt is not drilled straight causing the shackle to rub. Rather...
Not true. Look up the install procedure and you will see that yes there is one position for the body of the distributor but you also have to line up the pulse ring alignment holes with a punch before you install.
The reason I've been watching this thread so closely is because Russ has been building a full port head and matching intake for my (non-stroked at this time) 4.0 project. I'm also going with the same cam as RCP and can't wait to get all this goodness back on my Jeep!
My understanding is Dynojet (and other chassis dyno) pulls are done in your 1:1 gear to remove any effect of torque multiplication so the dyno operator will shift up through the gears to get to the proper ratio during the session.
My understanding is Russ uses a torque plate if he does your machine work. I am also watching this thread. If I do a stroker I will have Russ do the machine work, parts and prep as he is local to me.
PCP Phx, what kind of power/tq are you estimating from this build?
Try heating the bolts with a propane torch like used for plumbing. The factory used thread locker on many of the larger bolts and heat is needed to melt it. Worked for me.
I have 5125's on my XJ (non-reservoir) and yes the lower front mount has bar pins. The stock Bilstein bushing is black poly and is pressed in and captured with lips, not molded in. You could certainly remove the poly bushing if you wanted. I don't remember if the bar pins I used were included...
I have a JCR bumper with the tie-ins and I had no problem towing this precious cargo up 8 miles of stage rally road some of which was very steep and rough. Just wish I had brought a drop hitch...
