The XJ has under went a full tune up (Plugs, wires, cap and injectors) the filters and all the sensors have been routinely changed. Roughly 30,000 miles back the computer had been changed.
I have an 03, 4.0 Automatic Lerado that drive's fine. 260K+ miles. 4 Wheel drive everything works wonderfully however! On occasion it will buck and grind. . . . Turn it off, 30 second later start it up and it's good to go for another hundred or so miles.
We've changed all the sensors (crank...
Hey there y'all!
I'm trying to understand what is this I keep hearing about Rinex? I've had 3 XJ's, 96, 05 and my present build is a 89 XJ dubbed OJ (Ol Jeep).
I don't know one from the other, but I sure miss my 96!
That XJ didn't have as many problems or wasn't as temperamental.
Hey y'all thank you in advance for all Yur help.
This last Friday I was preparing to work on the OJ (Ol' Jeep) so I sprayed Purple Power degreaser all over the motor compartment and on the motor.

Thanks for the response and your right those little details are needed. This is what has happened. I had just made some changes to the XJ and was in route to the emission control test center. I drove 4 1/2 miles and the jeep over heated. And that's been the only time I've driven the vehicle. No...
1989 Closed Loop cooling system over heats. Thermostat and water pump has been replaced. New gaskets and sealed properly. New fan shroud and electric fan has been installed. Do any of y'all have an idea on why it overheated?
After the purchase of the xj It did drive, I drove it home.
The replacement column is from a 95 XJ. The electronics on the lower section were different. So I swapped them over and made all the connections as previously aligned. Does the shafts to the column need any special adjusting?
Alright y'all:wave:, I picked up this 1989 XJ (Facebook Project XJ) for a mear $500.00. Knowing it has issues. Breaks, cooling and door locks to name a few. Steering Column is the big deal for me. I also think that there's a problem with the charging system but that would be another topic.
I...
