Fan clutches do not last forever! They are relatively inexpensive and will cure the low speed temp "creep" most of the time. Low speed rise is directly related to improper airflow. My 99 with an entirely new cooling system never gets above 195.

Most likely cause is a worn bushing in the front pump.

I just had the engine out of mine last week, and the oil dipstick stud is exactly where that goes.

I just installed a stock replacement from Oreilly when i changed engines. The stock cooling system is fine if all components are functioning properly. I have no over heating problems, after replacing everything new. This includes a new fan clutch, which made the biggest difference.
