Best choice for TRE at the Pitman Arm?

I was using NAPA Chassis parts instead of MOOG because I've heard MOOG wasn't what it used to be and had parts fail early. But now the NAPA Chassis 269-2788 has gone no longer available. I've had to warranty them twice(once on each Jeep) maybe why they stopped selling this particular part...

Door locks randomly lock and unlock while driving

I have an 01 XJ with 378,000 miles. Recently the door locks have started to lock and unlock randomly while driving. Some days it won't do it at all, other days it will do it randomly while driving. Any tips or suggestions on what to look for in troubleshooting?

How to test an ignition coil? Is the coil or DMM bad?

I am wondering if I have a failing ignition coil. It seems like I had decent power and now the engine is louder, tranny shifts more, and Jeep seems to have less power. I put my DMM on the 200 Ohm scale and measured across the coil and got 1.8 ohms. After it cooled down I got 2.1 ohms. A...

Looking for a good stock steering box

Anyone got one? The last "good used one" I got was worse than the one I took out of my Red Jeep. Hopefully someone has a good one. I hear the auto parts store ones are junk. I got a great one from a forum guy for the going price of $20 with broken bolts but now need another one for my Red...

What is the cheapest "good" steering box you can buy?

I got a used one that is looser than the one I took out. I hate dicking around with power steering fluid and hear the auto parts store rebuilds either are junk out of the box or fail soon. Looking around I've found this PSC for the small sum of over $700...

Is anyone hosting a tech session this summer?

Just thought I'd ask as vacation plans are starting to take shape and I'd like to be around for a group meet. I can't host them at my place because I'm in an apartment and it wouldn't be cool here.

Another one of those Dana 44 leaking axle shaft seal threads

I put a XJ D44 in my Jeep over the weekend with all new bearings & seals. Within 75 miles the passenger side axle shaft seal is leaking. Amazingly its not all over the breaks, but just drips down and lets the inside of the rim throw the gear oil. I removed the retainer plate and the leak is...

Difference between stock lower control arms 1984-1999 and 2000-2001

I was looking through the parts catalogs and found that MOOG lists two different part numbers for lower control arms. CK660203 is for 1984-1999 and CK660204 is for 2000-2001. Does anyone know if the part number difference is because of the switch from HP to LP axles and the length is...

Wallowed out holes axle side track bar

Hey Guys, I'm changing out my axles and I noticed the axle I'm putting in has fairly wallowed out holes on the axle side. Both the front and back holes. I am not aware of any way to repair the back side hole short cutting the mount off and welding one back on. Since I have a lifted Jeep with...
