I know Moog's lower line(s) has been farmed out, but their Moog Problem Solver line is their top end product. Last I heard Moog Problem Solver parts are still made in the USA. Is that no longer the case?
I've heard Moog Problem Solvers Parts still have a lifetime warranty. Is that correct?
Are...
I imagine unicorn grease comes from boiling down the fat in unicorns? Ha ha.
How about XRF ball joints? Anyone use them?
===
To make this post somewhat on the Alloy USA topic... I have read and been told that Alloy USA and Precision are the same brand and used to be made in USA and very good...
Sounds like Synergy is popular at NAXJA. If I got Synergy ball joints, would I have to use their special grease? Cause that aint happening. They'd get greased with whatever my alignment guy uses for chassis grease...
Hey, Johnnie Walker! We've never "met" before online, but I've been a lurker at Naxja for years. I've always enjoyed your posts and love the bug on my screen.
You fooled me the first time I saw the fly. I tried to shoo it off my screen. I wonder how many hundreds of guys have tried to shoo away...
Monroe eco shocks are plenty good and low cost. Monroe is my go-to brand for stocks for stock height vehicles, including XJ.
I've heard good things about the Monroe OE Spectrum Shocks for people who want a little bit firmer ride.
My cousin and I both really like Monroe Sensa Trac shocks for...
The stock shifter can manually shift it to 1, 2, or 3. When I want 4th I would need to flip the toggle switch to Auto position and have shifter in D.
When I want 4th gear I'd probably already be in Auto and Drive, letting transmission shift itself like stock.
P.S. - I've heard or read somewhere a rumor that CB radio interference can cause random gear shifting with AW4 shift mods. Is that a concern? If so, is there a cure for it?
Normally I hang out at JeepForum, but they haven't had any useful AW4 modification info for me for 97+ XJs that won't cause a CEL code. So I started exploring Naxja and CherokeeForum for AW4 shifting mod info.
I first learned of Montana Fab shifter module, but then a member at CherokeeForum...
I emailed Montana Fab. They replied telling me their shifter mod is still for sale, but now for a lower price than before. $110 now, but it's no longer plug and play (see post #4 above).
Radesigns does not offer the type of control I want. Rad offers only manual control shifters.
I want manual control of 1 & 2 when I want it, and the rest of the time normal auto shifting. I don't want CEL errors.
The MontanaFab controller does what I want, but can't find anywhere to buy it...
I want to have a receiver-hitch in front (mainly for D-ring tow point purposes). I want to explore solutions to get this while keeping my frontend lightweight.
I currently have a stock front bumper. I like a light frontend for better on and off road handling and gas mileage. Also, IME heavy...
I switched my 99 XJ to Mobil One 5-40W synthetic at 33K miles and it is great.
However, I switched to synthetic at 33K miles. I changed oil filter at 500 miles and again at 1000 miles to clean up any loosened gunk. After that, every 3000 miles. I will start changing filter every 5000K miles...
I recommend Wix filter. Wix makes Napa Gold. Some same thing, but cheaper under Wix brand name.
I recommend Mobil Clean 5000 conventional oil, or Shell conventional is good too. I prefer Mobil.
Use 10-30W if it gives at least 25 psi oil pressure when idling hot engine.
If less than 25 psi oil...
I just bought a 99 XJ Classic with tow package.
I don't want to tow anything. I do want softer ride.
So I want to install stock springs that came on 99 Classics without tow package. What is the dealer part number?
