HELP! 96 XJ 4x4 CPS bolt...in the bellhousing

Thanks for the replies.... I am going to leave it for now, and hope for the best. If I can get by with it in there (after I figure out why it still won't start now that I've put in a new CPS) I'll take it a few hours to someones place that has a garage and all the tools I could need to tear it...

HELP! 96 XJ 4x4 CPS bolt...in the bellhousing

Yeah, I read that, and I've read other threads about it, as well as some saying that it's ok to just leave it in there and it'll get chopped to bits but I was hoping for someone who's actually left it in there and it's not done any damage... I don't have a magnetic telescoping pole...ordered one...

I can't believe I didn't update this and fill in what the cause was: I replaced the distributor, the sensor above it, the cap & rotor as well as my Crankshaft Position sensor and my Throttle Position Sensor (altogether it wasn't all that much, I figured hey preventative maintenance if none of...

    Oil leak... but where?

I know the XJ is notorious for the rear main seal leaking, how long did it take from start to finish to replace it yourself? Whats ODD about this is my Jeep hasn't had a drop of oil leak and now all the sudden it's leaking?! Wasn't a drop of oil on the ground before we went to the park. If i...

    Oil leak... but where?

I had been dealing with a radiator overheating, but that has been fixed (new petcock valve, hoses, drained, flushed and refilled with 50/50 and the radiator stop leak fixed my small pinhole sized leak), so I am now wondering if the radiator leak and this go hand in hand

    Oil leak... but where?

At this point I am ready to drive to Colorado and drive my 1996 Jeep Cherokee Sport 4WD Automatic 4.0 off a nice big a** mountain and I don't mean in a nice fun off roading sort of way. I have replaced many things on my XJ.... I know this is such a horrible question to ask, being that there...

Thanks for the input y'all..... The culprit was a faulty fan relay, sometimes it worked (everytime I checked, the fan was working) apparently after a bit of driving it would stop working... anywho replaced it and no issues now.

    Loud squealing issue!

My jeep from day 1 always had this "squeal" when I turn the a/c on, if the a/c is off and crank up the Jeep it would be as quiet as a can be when idling... my jeep was in the garage the past half year with several issues, its back up and running now, again quiet when i start it up sitting there...

Okay....Thanks for ALL your suggestions and help. I greatly appreciate it. My parts, I always buy oem parts from the dealership as it's right down the road to me and closer than Autozone/Advance Auto is, and I was told some time ago on here it's usually best to stick with OEM parts so I do. I...
