Has anyone done this? In getting the bolt and welded nut out, I ended up doing a bit of a hack job on the mount. There's enough left hanging down to weld in some steel, but if a handy replacement is possible I'd rather do that.

Welds aside, does anyone see a problem with the angle the tailpipe is pointing? It's not pointed right at the brake line, nor is it pointing right at the diff., so I figured I'm good to finish welding it (and do a better job this time).

I'm new to owning a winch, and while I've read the winch manuals of several manufacturers, I can't find anywhere where it states how the clutch should be positioned when it's not in use. Do I leave it in the engaged or disengaged position when it's not being used? Thanks in advance.

I just got my first winch ever, and in setting it up I noticed that there is no thimble for the wire cable. Isn't it better to use one to prevent the wire from bending too sharply around the hook's pin? It's a Smittybilt XRC8, by the way. Seemingly a very nice winch. Thanks for any advice or help.
