Finally finished this project. Ended up with a couple of versions. By using the early XJ knuckles I was able to bolt on bigger front brakes. Didn't have to redo the track bar or steering, welding, etc. Uses all stock XJ parts- hubs, stub axles, ball joints, steering, track bar, etc...

Winter gas sucks for mileage. Lose 10% with it. Driving 65 instead of 55 will lose 12%. 75 instead of 55 will lose 25%. Use cruise control and slow down.

Was very lucky and found a used HD Offroad roof slider/rack. Do not attach it wimpy stock roof rack rivnuts/screws, they are way too light duty. Need to install it with thru bolts and fender washers. I used like SS 1/4" or 5/16" IIRC. Very solid. Makes a great place to mount 50" lightbars...

I have all the XJ parts and am still collecting the WJ parts to check and measure but it looks like the WJ knuckle and WJ hub interface diameter is larger than the XJ knuckle and XJ hub interface diameter. So does anyone know if the XJ hub is loose fitting in the WJ knuckle? What is the WJ...

Does anyone know if the WJ (redrilled to 5x4.5) 12" rotors and WJ calipers bolt on to the early XJ knuckles? Or the Explorer sport trac rotors and WJ calipers bolt on to the early XJ knuckles?

On RockAuto- 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac Do you use the Front RWD(2wd), Front 4WD or Rear rotors?

So redrilled WJ rotor with late ('99-01) hub bearings. Does the explorer sport track rotors line up with the early (pre-'98) hub bearings? And are they already 5x4.5?

My concern is that the disc mounting surface on the early hubs is taller than the late hubs. So which hub do you use to get the WJ rotors to center with the WJ caliper bolting to the WJ knuckle with the JKS spacer welded on?
