I own a 94 firebird formula. I've had it for five years now and am finishing up a engine rebuild. Big cam. Ported heads. The works. If u have any questions about lt1's I'm ur man lol
Go to the dealership n pay a fortune. Or go to the u pull n shove it in ur pocket. Bring the old one with and swap it then when they recheck u they won't notice
Its all apart. Cranks is mint. Found one rod bearing that was questionable and 2-3 pistons had some marking on them.
But the block has nice cylinder walls. just gotta get it cleaned and prolly go 2 or 3 over to be safe
Neighbor borrowed me one yesterday, Glad I had my impact.
I have a 12 gallon tank and it took 5 full fills of air before that balancer came off. By hand it would have been damn near impossible lol
I made a couple offerings on your last thread you started. Their is a few in your area. Look on craiglist.
I have a 2000 2dr sport. I say the newer the better for you. chances of less miles, better chance of having less rust, especially in minnesota, like you and I.
pulled the block down today, and have only found one Rod bearing that was slightly scored. Cylinder walls are nice yet, and main bearings were just fine still. Hoping I can sell this crank and other parts of the motor and make some profit so I can get started on this stroker.
Aight I would do that for last then, I am not digging into my 2000 motor until my 87 block is finished.
I have a 94 firebird formula with a lt1, and they are the same block as early sbc's. But instead of using a distributor is using a optispark which is mounted on the timing cover...
No flexplate installed yet, but I do have it in a box. Just saying haha.
I tried hammering off that damn harmonic balancer, I dont need it anyways. but it wont budge. I just want to get on to rebuilding this motor.
I pulled the mains, and rod bearings and I only found one slightly scored...
theres only a napa here in town. they want 18$ for it, I have one over at my parents house that i left there 30 miles away, ill prolly just wait til I make it over there to get it. dont feel like blowing 18$ since i dont really need it.
