    Chevy 63" spring question

I have been looking into ways for getting more travel out of the rear on a new build. I was wondering about chevy 63" leafs, I know someone on here threw some under their pile. I would like to stay with leafs, any suggestions or ideas?

    Anyone in Montana?

I cracked my flywheel and am hoping to get it fixed for relatively cheap. Is anyone in the butte area free for the weekend? A place to work would be nice, I can pitch money or beer or whatever.

    Water pump question

So I noticed about a week ago that my water pump was leaking so I figured that it was on its way out. A few days later, no leaking. Then I was out wheeling and it was probably 50 degrees out, and the jeep seemed to be running warm (over 220), the e fan was kicking on but I could not keep the...

    NP231 clunking

Could the trans mount be bad? Its a pretty consistent sound. I'll check the shifter today.

    NP231 clunking

So I recently noticed that my transfer case is clunking. I noticed it after I backed out a of steep dirt driveway in 4wd. It seems to be making the noise at idle in park, while driving or in any gear. Not sure on what it could be, going to check fluid level this weekend. Has a SYE on it. Any...

ghettocherokee's Black Forest Service Jeep Build

Well, as of right now, I am picking up a dana 44 and 60 so I can do a full width swap. The plan is to get the axles and wait until I have the money to build them the way I want. I'll start with the rear so if for whatever reason I decide to do a 60 front instead of the 44, I won't lose money...

ghettocherokee's Black Forest Service Jeep Build

It seems like it could be either, I am leaning towards heat soak purely because it was running a bit warm and I was winching for close to 2 hours. It seems like any other time that it has happened, the jeep is hot or hotter. I will have to wait and see what happens, I know I need hood vents.

ghettocherokee's Black Forest Service Jeep Build

So after my last outing I have decided I need a synthetic winch line and I need to figure out why my winch is not free spooling. I was looking at Olympus offroads lines, anyone have experience with them? Also I shut off the jeep after it was running for close to 3 hours straight, most of the...

ghettocherokee's Black Forest Service Jeep Build

So I have had my Jeep since 2011, but I haven't really been active on the forum with posting anything I have done to it. I have mostly been reading up on how others have done their rigs. So I guess it is time to start some sort of build thread. So here it goes: I bought the Jeep in 2011 for...

    wj swap question

It squeals pretty bad, been doing to for a few weeks now. I am pretty sure that they are the original hubs that came on the jeep. I am planning on picking up spare shafts for wheeling anyways, if the hub gets super bad, I will just swap a JY shaft in with the hub to make it the rest of the...

    wj swap question

I have a shop to work in with a welder, grinder and a torch. Just no drill press. What part of the hub would I have to grind? How much grinding? I am just nervous of drilling the rotors because I'm sure I will screw it up. I assume it isn't good to drive 500 miles on a bad hub.

    wj swap question

I don't have access to a drill press, otherwise I would drill the wj rotors. Where would I get SAE washers for the hubs and rotor? Also I was going to replace my unit bearings this week because they are squealing like crazy, can I get 00-01 unit bearing and run them on the xj knuckle? I have a...

    wj swap question

I do? I thought the uppers were the same as xj ball joints? And I have adjustable ball joints so if they work, I don't want to get rid of them.

    wj swap question

So I am going to do a wj knuckle swap in a few weeks, so I am getting parts now. Here is a list of what I need/have. Wj knuckles Akebono calipers 02 sport trac disks Knuckle spacers Lower wj ball joints Jks drag link and tie rod OTA track bar mount New track bar Am I missing anything? I was...

    Dana 30 gear question

I was looking to go to 4.56's and found someone with a used set of Dana 30 gears. My only concern is that the gears came off of a cj7. Would these gears fit on a 98 Dana 30? I know the axle needs to be high pinion to work.
