Did a simple modification! Cut the very end of the cable (where the metal sleeve is) that is attached at the braket. Then put a new metal sleeve over the cable at the same distance as the one found on the cherokee, crushed it and voilà! Simple modification that took a few minutes.
Now I have...
I'm all about done installing my 4.5'' lift kit on my 2000 XJ. I still need to add longer parking brake. I know that the YJ ('91 and newer, passenger side # 52007522) is often used.
I was wondering if any of you had kept your original passenger side line from the XJ and switch it to the...
I agree that the Clayton seems tuff. After my research on different forums (from US and Canada), I can tell you that both the one from Clayton and the one from DPG Offroad got only good reviews. So I think if you go with any one of them, you are going to be in bisiness!!!
That's what I kind of just did with Dirk at DPG offroad. My kit is build with JKS and Old Man Emu + some of DPG. He asked me what I wanted to do with the Jeep and added specific stuff for that! Can't wait to get it!!
OutkastBoss, I went for the lighter coil for my kit with spacers, since I was looking for a softer ride and I not planing of putting heavy bumper and winch for now. Probably have to change them if I do however.
I'll probably order the 6'' shims and do my mesurments when I install the 4.5''...
Yeah, that what I was thinking too. I might just install it and then buy the shims. Problem not much local 4x4 parts store arround my brothers place (that's where I'm going to intall the kit during vacations).
I just ordered my 4.5'' lift kit from DPG Offroad (the Super Ultimate XJ Old Man Emu hybrid kit) and now want to order my Slip Yoke Eliminator and Driveshaft kit from IRON ROCK. I'm wondering what degree shims should I get??? The 4 or 6 degree.
When the lift kit is already installed, I know...
Finally made my choice for my suspension!
I'm going to go with the 4.5 inch super ultimate XJ old man EMU hybrid kit from DPG Off-Road (http://dpgoffroad.com/products/44-5-inch-super-ultimate-xj-old-man-emu-hybrid-kit/)
This is the kit.

Nice job JBMoose
Looks very clean!
Yeah, I know I'll have to do a SYE eventually.
More of budjet thing for know. When I got the XJ was thinking of doing a cheap lift on it and slapping some tires, but the more that I read the more that I wanted something solid that would last .....which means...
Have to tell you that that kit sounds really good.

Thanks for all the SYE info guys...as well as for the other suspension kits.
To many options now ahahahah....to bad I don't have them installed on XJ to have test drives!
I'll do some more reading and homework to see what options I can get here....and let you know.
Feel free if you have...
Re: 4.5'' suspension...
Don't think I'm going to go long arm. Lots of guys have long arms and only hear good things about them. But since it's illegal around here and the cops are just looking for a reason to give you a ticket...I don't want to put the time and effort + the cash into this, to...
Thanks for the comments and suggestions.
Yeah I thought about going with either Clayton, Rockkrawler or Rubicon Express. But since shipping cost are expensive for those kits, they become really expensive with this added price. BDS I know that the parts dealer here as it, so no shipping. But...
Hi guys,
I was thinking of buying a 4.5 Lift Kit from BDS suspension. It is for a 2000 Cherokee XJ, automatic. This is my daily driver and easy trails...nothing hard core. I would be putting on 32'' Mud tires (BF Km2).
Jeep Cherokee XJ 4-1/2" Lift Kit (Price $1,739.89)
In the tech...
