well i allready have a bunch of dom thats why i wanted to do this. but i dont want to redo the whole steering to one ton just elimate the stock weak tie rod. basicly like the rustys one they sell but i figure save a few bucks and weld it up my self. are the dodge truck tre's 11/16 18? because...
anyone know the thread size for the stock tie rod ends? i wana build a beefed up tie rod and was looking to order some threaded tubing adapters that i can weld into some dom. also is moog any better then say autozone tre's? i know autozone had liftime warranty on theirs. thanks.
ya i know what otk steering looks like. im looking for more of home fabed brackets for the track bar and sway bar links. thanks anywase though you better then me at this internet thing.
my otk steering set up is in the mail. i know im gona have to move the axle side track bar mount up and move the sway bar mounts too. does anyone have pics of how they made their mounts for both of those? also is there anything else im gona run into? its the chevy 1 ton y link set up. thanks.
so i was looking into building a 1 ton steering like this
http://www.jcroffroad.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Store_Code=J&Screen=PROD&Category_Code=S6&Product_Code=1TNST
but from what ive read the con to this set up is tie rod roll. so i got to thinking what if you took the this piece...
i wouldnt unmount the caliper when you bleed them the piston will just shoot out. and i thought you were suposed to start with the wheel farthest from the master cylinder.
so im thinking about building my own track bar but was wondering about the bends in it. whats the deal with them? is there a specific place to put the bends or can i just match the stock bends? its going on a 4.5" lift. ive also seen some real custom setups that dont have a bend at all. thanks.
