Good afternoon all, we have an 89 XJ with some simple stuff done to it and some more modifications in the works. I am kind of a rookie when it comes to fabricating so i am sure i will have lots of questions in the near future and hopefully some good information as my experience level increases...
stopman, I am currently experiencing the same condition in my 89. I am by no means an expert but I have heard that filling the closed radiator system can be tricky sometimes. I think i remember someone suggest getting the rear of the jeep higher than the front (put the back wheels on top of a...
Are there any oil addativs that help clean or can clean the lifter and push rod tube components of the oil system? Not all of the rocker arms are getting oil. Any Ideas?
going from the front of the engine to the back rocker #1 no, #2 yes, #3 no, #4 no, #5 yes, #6 no, #7 no, #8 yes, #9 no, #10 no, #11 no, and #12 yes. If the lifters are stuck is there a method to free them up without removing the head?
Ok, I pulled the valve cover and ran the engine. I noticed that only 4 of the rocker arms are getting oil from the push rods. That would lead me to think the lifters are not working properly. Am I on the right track? If i need to replace the lifters do I have to pull the head?
We have an 89 with 219,000 miles that makes the same noises after the engine is shut down. I have a question about the engine while it is running. When the engine is started it runs normal with a little noise coming from the oil pan area. After a few minutes of running it starts making...
I myself am a big fan of the WD40, I use it on all of my exterior metal parts included. Try not to use it on the interior stuff though, the smell can be kind of strong.
rockclimber, i think i need to remove them. i used a plumbbob to create some meausr ment points from the axle to the ground and meausred the distance from both sides of the axle, there is a 1 7/16" difference. the lower control arms have spacers at the mount (3) on the passenger side and (0)...
1989 XJ 4 door with 4 1/2" lift, poorly installed. I am trying to figure out the alignment (very poor tire wear in the front). Can anyone tell me what is the best way to remove the lower control arms on the darn thing? Any advice would be much apprecieated, thanks.
Ok we have an 89 without the infamous c101 connector. It is the Laredo model but I don't think that changes much mechanicly. Our transfer case does have the 2H-4PT-4FT-N-4L so I may assume this is the Transfer case we have. Is this good or bad?
I am sure this is a rookie question but i will ask anyway. Can any one tell me how to identify my transfer case? Is there a spot on the case anywhere that might give me a hint of what kind i have? Any advice is greatly appreciated.
lawsoncl thanks for the info. I'm going to do some exploratory work this morning and i should have a post this after noon about my findings. Have a great Sunday.
