right meow I just finished building my LQ4 for my xj. most people like stock 6.0Ls for their xjs i kind of went a little overboard. Building a hybrid xj 44 to somehow handle it using the much bigger jk gears in an xj housing.

It's getting better. Run a feeler gauge .002" between both inner and outer pinion bearings cups and case makes sure it is seated proper....along with the inner pinion bearing...just to make sure the original guy did seat them properly...
other then that pinion depth is looking better but can be...

hey outlander, I read through your thread. I set up gears for a living and I'm more then happy to help you with your endeavors. Used gear pattern is rather difficult to get a good pattern (sometimes) but it is definitely do-able. Case preload on HP Dana 30s you will want 9-12 inlbs of turning...
