I believe the holes in the crossmember for the tranny mount are offset about 1" from one end to the other. Mine's installed with the shorter side toward the passenger side, shifting the drive train away from the drivers side.
Hi
I've posted around the forums asking for an answer regarding the installation of the e-autoworks H4 upgrade harness in an export XJ with the DRL feature.
The problem is with the DRL feeding 6v to the base of the high beam relay of the upgrade harness. It either caused chattering of the...
I went to Timkins web based parts catalog and they list the bearing itself as #6408. If you follow AZ's parts search, it takes you to the "repair kit", but if you punch in 6408 it brings up just the bearing.
Looks like I'll be getting the 6408 and a refund :-)
I'm in the same boat right now. The 2 new bearings I picked up were as you described. It almost looks like they have the seal pre-installed.
Does anyone have any input? How would I go about installing them (assuming they're the correct part)? Would a regular bearing/race installer work? Any...

Turned out to be the steering gear adapter was shattered behind the steering box. Replaced it, vibe gone.

Thanks. I thought about welding washers. I have a couple other mounting points that have similar issues (luckily none as critical as this one). Maybe I'll give that a shot.
Thanks again
That looks like a piece of regular SO or SJO electrical wire. Not exactly what I would expect to see in the dash of a Jeep.
I would say that as long as the factory connector and harness is all present in the dash opening, my guess would be that a kid had a head unit in there and was using that...
Phew. Thanks. When I read that I might have used too soft a bolt, I started freaking a little. I appreciate your feedback and look forward to reading here. Thanks again bob
Hi. New here. When I did my LCA's the axle hole was already wallowed out. I got a 9/16ths bit and drilled out the collars in the new control arm bushings and the bolts slid through the axle mounts without modification. I'm a newb mechanic and used Gr. 8. Now I read this thread. After doing some...
