Hey guys, going over my new project rig and getting her trail ready and I am having some issues identifying the kit the PO used. I am replacing the heim joints and want to make sure I get the right ones.

That's good to hear, I also heard that possibly the new synchros need to break in? One guy recommended sanding down ever so slightly the inner grooves to help with this... I didn't do that though, anyways I hope it does get better, thanks for your input!

So, I did it... and I am pretty bummed to report that it seems like it didn't do much. Now it seems harder to shift when it gets warmer and there was a considerable amount of brass in the fluid I drained out... it's been in there for 2 weeks!! Could some cheap fluid really do that to my rings?!

So my trans wouldn't hold first gear, it would violently jump out if you tried starting from a stand-still. Fast-forward to now... I just did a rebuild that replaced all Synchro rings and bearings, seems to work great... most of the time. It seems now if it's cold it's hard to shift into gear...

That's gotta be my goal for next year to make my rig ready for the Poker run... your pics and narrative make it look super fun.

I just installed them with stock leafs so it may be a little different than your application but it seemed to work out fine, got the nice 45 deg angle and it gave me almost 3" lift in the back. (I made my own brackets just like RC so YMMV)

Yeah I'm interested in what they have to say, I was planning on springing for a kit in a couple months. I have a few other options so if it looks like I'll be changing bushings out every couple months then it changes things.
