I tested my evaporator using a hand operated vacuum pump to check for leaks.
Pumped it down to 20 inHg and let it set for 12 hours and it didn't leak down. FSM says to evacuate the system at 26 inHg.
Is this method adequate to determine the integrity of the evaporator? I realize it may be on...
Went to my local Chrysler dealer to get a set of valve springs for my '99 4.0 and the counter puke said there is none in the system anywhere and that Chrysler has not reordered them.
Looks like the end may be near for buying new OEM parts for our 4.0 motors.
