motor, radiator and brakes are all good, electrical is good. the thermostat housing started to leak, but i'm going to replace that gasket. the stuff at the bottom of the door is just adhesive from the molding that used to be on it. i was just too lazy to scrub it off before i painted it. other...
justpunchit, what are some specs on your xj?
prosonic, i haven't really been driving it much in the past month since i bought a truck. just need to lighten the load for the time being.

This little guy runs strong and shifts nicely for the amount of miles on it. It is a project vehicle, it's about 85% finished. I drive this daily, it is currently inspected in PA until 1/13. Really the only thing needed to...
they are 2.5 johnny joints, 3 right hand thread, 3 left hand thread, with 4 square tube adapters for 2x2x.25 wall tubing. i only have 4 inserts but could get 2 more made.
probably looking to get $300 out of all of them.
Just like the title says, I have a pair of Detroits for an 8.8 and an hp30
gears are 4.56
master install kits for both axles, plus an extra shim kit for the 8.8, all NIB
Solid diff covers with all hardware never installed, but out of box
The gears and detroit for the hp 30 are used, but in...
hmmm... can you take the disc brakes off the lincoln 8.8 and put them on the explorer 8.8?
i'm going to have to look into these. i never liked the drum style ebrake for the explorer 8.8 discs
i've installed 3 of the rugged ridge sye on 3 different rigs and i didn't experience any of the problems you listed. other than having to shave down the shift rod on one of the tcases.
my guess is it's just the lack of quality assurance on rugged ridges part. you just have more bad ones than...
i just redid my exhaust with some cheapo header off ebay. i think i have under $300 into the whole thing.
i got a new stock down pipe and cut a section out and put a section of flex pipe in, then a new cat and a magnaflow muffler
i got all the parts (minus the header) from performance curve it...

you are correct and i messed up when referring to spring rate and load capacity. in my posts i was referring to load capacity.
the charts could be wrong, i don't know older chevy's that well. these were the two charts i looked at when trying to find the load capacity
Mr. N's leaf spring...
well there ya go.
the leaf spring chart i was looking at didn't have the k5 on it. just the k10 and you didn't specify in your previous posts. plus i couldn't find any info on the k5 spring pack.
when I talked to the local leaf spring shop about spring rate I was told that just adding a cut...
i'm running a new stock pack with an extra stock main leaf added to it. it rides better than the old worn out springs. with the shackles being relocated and using a creeper joint for the shackle mount i'm sitting about 2.5in of lift measuring from the top of the axle to the "frame".
comparing the arch of two leaf packs from two different vehicles isn't really going to help you much. just because a pack is flatter doesn't mean it will flex better.
i think a stock xj pack has a spring rate of 655 or 745, depending on the arch the leaf packs have. if you are talking about...
