I have the new version of rusty's steering setup I love it. I've heard of people having issues with his origional one as seen it the review posted eariler. This definatley cured the issues I was having with the stock steering.
In this shitty state that we livethe biggest you can go on an XJ is 37s as long as the lift you have does not put you over door sill height. When I had mine inspected at the Winslow station last year I asked about tire sizes and was told that it goes by gross vehicle weight ie the XJ hits a max...
The NSS is located on the passengers side of the tranny. You'll need to follow the wiring up to the engine bay and disconnect it there before removing it. I removed and cleaned mine as per the directions on the site above saving myself almost $300.
I just did 8.8 brakes on a c8.25 its not as simple as bolting on like the ZJ. The holes in the backing plate dont line up so they will need to be redrilled. Its do able but not as easy as the ZJ backing plates.

I dont have the part # but the tank needs to be at 1/2 or less. As for special tool a brass punch and hammer are all that is needed to remove the lock ring.
I used Duplicolor bedliner since I figured the extra trexture of the herculiner would tend to trap more dirt and other garbage. As to 3 coats being enough only time will tell but I figure since they say use 2 coats I'd give it one extra. Since I still have about 1/2 gallon left I can alwyas roll...
I just finished mine a few minutes ago (front of the jeep that is). Now its just time to wait for it to cure and put everything back in. I think I might do the cargo area in the near future as I still have about 1/2 gallon left after doing 3 coats.
Check the bolts that hold the flexplate to the torque converter. I had the same sound your describing on mine when the bolts mysteriously became loose.
if you want to mount it to the gutters you could find a set of racks for a work type truck at a u pull it and use those its what I didi when I built mine.
