Well, I took the plunge and ordered the 4.88's through ECGS. I also picked up Nitro chromoly axles for the HP30. Customer service was top notch and I had a UPS tracking number within an hour of placing my order.
I get the strong fuel smell in the cabin on my 2000 from time to time. When it first happened to me I went and had the Jeep scanned at Autozone and a laundry list of codes showed up. I checked all the lines and have found no visible leaks. It ended up being a loose gas cap. No issues since.
I've been running a dynomax muffler on my rig for about a year now. I wanted a muffler that was a little louder than stock, but not as noticeable as a flowmaster 40 series. The dynomax muffler has fit the bill so far and has added a noticeable gain in hp compared to the stock muffler. Not...
I installed a RR SYE kit on my 2000 XJ two weeks ago and am happy with it so far. The instructions weren't the best so I referenced the Advance Adapters SYE install video on youtube. A quality set of snap ring pliers is key to a smooth install. I used a front shaft out of a 97 XJ and am very...
Appreciate the feedback from everyone. I have a lead on a free 8.8 out of a 98 explorer w/discs that I am going to check out this weekend. I'm pretty much convinced that I wont be satisfied with 4.56's so I'm going to take the leap and go for the 4.88's. From what i've researced so far, it...
I am planning to to run 33's this summer and was all set to go with 4.56's. Now you have me second guessing them with 4.88's. I hear ya though. I've read through countless threads on which gear to go with and the general consensus is that the 4.56's are the way to go if you are looking to...
Haha.. I hear you. I feel like my Jeep has a new squeak or clunk everytime I drive it. Hoping that all goes away when I install the TNT y-link up front in the next few weeks. I'll check out East Coast Gear Supply. Thanks for your help.
Are the nitro gears noisy on the road? I'm expecting a little more noise out of the gears since that is the nature of deeper gears, but want a gear that is going to be somewhat quite at highway speeds. My jeep is my DD for a few more years. Appreciate your input.
I picked up a HP30 and an 8.25 for free a few weeks ago. Looking to set them up with 4.56 gears and chromoly axles in the HP30. Anyone have any recommendations on where to get the best deal for everything I need to do the gear swap? I've done a good bit of research and it seems like Yukon and...
Installed a Rugged Ridge SYE this weekend. Also, I received my TNT Y-link upgrade and frame rail stiffenerz on Friday. After the SYE install, I started to strip down the undercoating on the frame so that I can install the stiffeners. Very impressed with the quality and workmanship of the TNT...
Turns out the driver side caliper was hungup. Replaced it on Sat and no more sluggish feeling. I checked the hub assemblies and they are the right ones. Thanks again for your help guys.
I'll check this out tomorrow. I ordered Timken hub assemblies from my cousin who owns an auto parts store. I assumed he would have gotten me the rights hubs but it's possible they may not be. Thanks for the help everyone.
Im hoping you guys can help me diagnose what is going on with my XJ. I have a 2000 with 85K on it. I installed an Aussie locker in my D30 last month as well as new hubs and axle u-joints. As soon as I got it back on the road I noticed that the car felt sluggish as if something were holding it...
We have about 8" inches now with a lot more coming tonight. Took the day off tomorrow to go boarding at Mtn Creek. Supposedly they already have over a foot with more coming tonight.
+1 for the RE 3.5 kit. I would suggest the super flex kit over the super ride if you plan on any wheeling as well as a good adjustable track bar such as JKS. Also, pick up a trans drop kit or make one yourself with some washers to avoid any vibes. As someone already said, keep an eye on the...
