heater stops blowing hot air when I stop

Problem Solved. Thank you all again for nailing this problem right away. Solution: Coolant level was low by 1 gallon. Apparently when the mechanic flushed the system, he forgot to turn the heater on when filling it back up. Because of the mistake, he fixed it for free. Now my Jeep does not...

    Boiling Coolant

Just last weekend a mechanic told me that the electric fan should only turn on when the A/C is on. (i was asking about the fan due to my own overheating problem) edit: check your thermostat. if its stuck shut the antifreeze cannot circulate through the radiator and will make it boil..when it...

where can i find rear turn signal socket for 93

'93 Cherokee Sport 4.0 liter My rear drivers side turn signal socket AND brake light socket are rotted out (corroded) and need to be replaced, but I cannot find any replacement parts. I've checked junkyards (rear wiring gone out of all the cherokees), autozone, advance auto, napa, and the...

Just got new tires- Jeep still shakes. Ideas?

I had a similar problem with my 93 sport. It turned out that I had a culmination of issues: -bad wheel bearing on front passenger side -bad axleshaft u-joints on front both sides. I replaced the axleshafts with cv shafts out of a 95 jeep GRAND cherokee and replaced that bad wheel bearing. It...

heater stops blowing hot air when I stop

Wow! Thank you for all the suggestions, ill try some this weekend. For the record, I do have an exhaust leak and old dryrotted vaccuum lines. My electric fan does not turn on until 220 degrees, so I would also assume i have a bad temp sensor. I'll tinker with these and bleed my system then get...

heater stops blowing hot air when I stop

Thanks Hippie, I have not bled the system because I have paid mechanics to do the work. I assume they bled it but I am not sure, ill give it a try this weekend. The only 2 things I have not did after extensive searches on this site are: - replaced the heater core - used a 70/30 mixture...

heater stops blowing hot air when I stop

93 Cherokee Sport 4.0 liter While I am driving down the road my heater works great. However, when I stop for a long stoplight or at a drive-thru, my heater starts blowing cold air. When I start driving again, the heat soon returns. Could this be linked to my overheating problem? It seems...

93 Cherokee starts then shuts off after 1-2 seconds

Thank you all for your help and suggestions. :) I ended up taking my Jeep to a mechanic and he determined that the problem was a faulty Crank Position Sensor. Turns out I got a defective one from Autozone. The jeep is now running. Thanks again! Oh and he said a faulty crank position...

93 Cherokee starts then shuts off after 1-2 seconds

Another thought: By searching this forum and reading other peoples posts, I have been coming across a reoccuring theme in the suggestions, and that is possibly the ignition switch is bad? What I have not found is, if you start the jeep and keep it running by revving the engine does that mean...

93 Cherokee starts then shuts off after 1-2 seconds

Thank you for that info, so the 14 code could be triggerin the 12 code? I replaced the MAP sensor and it still does the same thing and I still get codes 12 and 14. So the MAP sensor was good what could cause it to throw that code 14 then?

    93 cherokee error codes 12 and 14

My jeep is starting then stalling (more like shutting off) within 1-2 seconds. Someone suggested checking the error codes, so I did and it has 2 of them: :arrowr: Code 12 - Direct battery input to PCM was disconnected within the last 50 Key-on cycles. :arrowr: Code 14 - MAP sensor input...

93 Cherokee starts then shuts off after 1-2 seconds

93 Cherokee starts then shuts off after 1-2 seconds

History: A week ago I started my Jeep and drove around the block then shut if off to run inside the house fast, when I came out I tried to start my Jeep and it cranked and cranked without trying to start. Only after holding the throttle to the floor was it able to start, then it ran fine until 2...

    fuel tank removal qs...

The easiest way I've found to remove a gas tank is: 1.) loosen the hanger bolts until there is only 1/4 in of threads left 2.) disconnect the vent hose from the metal line. This will be a short piece of hose hooked to a T connector. You do not have to disconnect any of the vent lines from...

vouch this. the inlet hose is a major pain, espeically getting the clamps off. if you are having trouble with these clamps or hoses ill give you a brief description of easy removal. (i've dropped my tank 4 times in the past 4 months trying to solve a fuel pump issue, got pretty good at it)

Detailed fuel pump problem on my 93 - humming n worse

I am not a mechanic or an electrical engineer, so I have no idea what the exact connection is but... After talking to at least 8 different mechanics about this problem, a backyard mechanic is who told me the fix. He claims he has worked on at least 5 other jeeps that had the same problem with...

Radio and Security System 1994 Jeep Cherokee

Dont hate me for asking a dumb question, but have you checked the fuses in your fuse box? Possibly you crossed a wire when you had the radio out. Dont just check the radio fuse, check other fuses too, such as ignition fuses. Some times the Radio fuse is the last to blow.

    fuel tank removal qs...

On my 93 the nuts on the hanger bolts require a 9/16 wrench. I also have a Michigan Jeep with a lot of rust/dirt, but a little PB Blaster took care of that and I did not have to cut/replace them. However it's always an option.
