Does the Shifter have to come off to drop the tranny?

I now have the Tranny, T-case and both drive shafts all together and out on the floor. Once I won the fight with the center console getting the sifter out was easy. I'll be replacing the front shaft seal on the tranny while I'm in there. Thanks for all the help guys. The failure turned out to be...

Does the Shifter have to come off to drop the tranny?

Thanks guys great info. xpedition xj-eh! that link does have a bunch of good tips. Thanks kastein so it sounds like I could do the twist off trick rather than taking the four bolts off that hold the tower on? Is that right? I'll have a look at that when I get home tonight. Loss of power after being rear ended

98NWCherokee for the win. Tim for second. I don't know if the hit caused it. Hard to say but the CAT code came on yesterday. The loss of power has subsided quite a bit... stuff must have moved around some more in there. New cat on order. Thanks for the help

Loss of power after being rear ended

Ya that is really what it feels like but: 1) I had a big hitch still in from moving a trailer around this weekend so I don’t think she came anywhere near the bumper. 2) My tailpipe is trimmed up nice and tight like WB9YZU suggests to keep it out of the rocks and such. 3) I have been under...

Loss of power after being rear ended

This morning I was hit from the rear while slowing for a light. I was not a hard hit really. The other driver sped off with a print of my hitch in their honda. I got out and there was no visible damage but once I got going things were not right. I can hear an exhaust type hissing sound and at...

Is this OK? If so where?

I would like to post a similar thread to below on NAXJA but as it is a bit of a strange deal where I am selling something but not really for profit and certainly not commercially. I'm not clear what rules would apply. Also if it is allowed where would be best...

    Busted Sway Bar Axle Mount

Thanks for the link I had not seen that product. Looks like a fair price. Anyone have experience welding them on. How much do you have to tear down to get in there and weld?

    Busted Sway Bar Axle Mount

So I noticed some funny handling and on investigation I found this hanging from my Sway bar link. Clearly it has been cracked for a while and finally let go. I thought about welding it up but the way it's broken and with all the stuff around it so close I don't have very high confidence that a...

Easiest way to fill engine with coolant?

Then get a new bolt while you are there as well. You should beb able to match the pitch with one they have.

Easiest way to fill engine with coolant?

You are going to need a helicoil kit and some tapping fluid. Take the bolt to thee Hardwear store with you to get the right size kit.

hatch release is broken, how can I open it

I have never tried this, but last time I was into my hatch, (cause it had this problem) it looked like one could stick something flat and flexy into an opening under the handle on the right side and get it to push down on the thing that the handle is meant to push on a bit harder. The mechanism...

Life span of coils and springs

Contrary to what I have read here and other places, springs do not "sag" over time, they are bent from exceeding their design limits. Steel has an elastic limit and a fatigue limit. A spring that is used within those two limits will last indefinitely. In other words if your springs are bent...
