Here is a link to the floor pan that I'm talking about. Omix-ADA sent me pics of the pans they have in stock, and they look just like this...so the picture correctly represents the pans they have. If I had a good pic like the one on their site, I would have posted it...I just posted this link...
I did look at that pan, but my rust runs up to my transfer case shifter mount :( I was hoping to make an abstract cut in the full replacement pan and transfer that to my floor pan and weld it in. It would cost a little more to buy the full pan, but I could cut out the tricky angles for...
I have an '88 XJ 2-door, a Southern Jeep all it's life. The rust is confined to the pans...and the worst is the driver's side. It has crept up and ruined the 4-bolt mount where the transfer case lever attaches...so it's pretty high. The drivers floor pan is pretty bad. The passenger's side...
Well...my radiator came today...but it was damaged. Called Radiator Barn and they want pics...and they said another one should be on the way tomorrow...and hopefully to me by Fri. I don't understand why CSF doesn't pack these radiators any better than they do. That's a lot of money between...
Thanks for all the replys. I have ordered the '88 3row HD CSF radiator, Moroso 1.25" x1.25" in-line filler neck, plus I'm replacing every cooling component/part to ensure a free flowing system. I'm also re-doing my AC system while I have it down. I'll start a thread with pics documenting all...
I talked with CSF today and wrapped it up. I think I'm going with the 3-row all metal for the '88...and it does have the bung for the temp sensor. I'm going to try the filler add-on and try it as an open system first. If it doesn't work as it should, I'll get Mac's aluminum tank with a...
I was just looking on the CSF site...in their catalog. They have the "economical" aluminum 1 row with plastic tanks, with filler neck, and what looks to be the bung for the temp. sensor. Their part number is #3251. Has anyone used this radiator before? I know it has the plastic tanks, but my...
Mike...My plastic tank radiator has been in my XJ for some 14 years now...ever since I put the new Jasper engine in. I haven't had the first bit of trouble with it...nor any sign of reduced flow....until my surge tank cap started failing. The radiator itself is clean, as is the block. I know you...
So what if I just get the '88 CSF radiator with the original threaded bung...and install the in-line Dakota filler cap, or some other brand? I don't see a reason for it not to work... you'll have a filler cap, overflow tube, bottle....open is open right? The filler neck/cap on the inlet hose...
1. So how would you restrict the flow through the heater core without the vacuum valve?
2. Seems like dropping the valve altogether, as posted in many threads, might in fact be better on the heater core. The heat transfer to the cab should be minimal as the heater "flap" wouldn't be open...
Thanks for taking the time to offer your suggestions... I did call one of the vendors and asked about the CSF '92 and up having the threaded bung, but they didn't know :( I may try to call CSF directly and see if I can get any help there. I'll let you know what I find out.
My local radiator...
Is there a better forum to post this question on? I've not received any feedback on the last two threads I started, and I could really use some help. I've searched and read many threads, but none seem to answer my question.
Thanks...
I DO NOT want to convert my electric fan to a manual switch. I want to be able to leave it as factory to cycle on and off at the factory temp. settings. That being said...which scenario would be best?
OPTIONS
1. Use the 1992 radiator with radiator cap, and someone tell me a solution for the...
Well...I haven't been here in forever it seems. My XJ has been running great until the past 6-8 months. Two coolant bottles later, I'm reconsidering my closed system setup. I'm now homeschooling my children, so maintenance time is very limited for me. I have searched and reviewed alot of...
Make your opinion count. Write your elected officials, or in this case, those who were elected to serve to represent this District. I hope concerned business owners in and around the Tellico Plains area have already done the same. Make a good educated argument and use what facts you have that...
Does anyone have the names handy of the State Senators and other representatives who were elected by the people of this district? I'll start my search and post what I find.
It's time for a change....I've been running LT275/85 (33") Radial Buckshot mudders on 8" AR767's for the last 8 yrs. I have factory width Currie HP 9" w/Detroit in the rear, and factory width 9" w/ARB up front...all stock suspension bracketry with old Tomken 4/4.5" short arm lift. Fenders are...
