This is a 4.0 pulled out of 93XJ originally mated to an aw4. Looks like the T/C pilot broke off in the crank?? Anyone ever seen this before and got any tips on getting one out if that's what it is
Just called Alpha 4x4 in Indian Trail....Mike's ordering some. I was just wondering if anyone's had luck w/ finding them at a napa or local parts place or something more convenient for down the future.
uncc civilengineer: hey man where'd you get them online???
haven't thought about cooling my steering pump. What would make me need to cool it....does it burn up that much fluid to need a cooler? Does it have something to do w/ larger tires?? Is that why tonight when I checked my steering pump fluid it's almost empty? Please inform me. But also if I...
I know this topic has been discussed...cause I've been reading all the posts. But I can't find out what people are doing when they remove their radiator from the loop when they install a tranny cooler. AW4-->tranny cooler-->AW4. What are you using to plug the holes in the radiator where the...
I'm curious what a stock xj weighs. I've got mine on 3/4 axles, 38's, bumpers, etc and trying to figure out what it weighs for a trailer. Just trying to get an avg weight if anyone has ever weighed theres. thanks:cheers:

What is your setup in the rear. Size leafpack, shackle, block? Are you sitting leave w/ the 3.5 in the front. Got any pics. Not trying to hijack thread, but this may help recycledxj out too.
When you build something like this you have to ask yourself at what cost. There is a trade off in everything. Is this a dd or a trail rig or somewhere in the middle? Yes your unibody is going to flex some, is it going to make your whole frontend fall off....doubt it. But how hard are you...
I'm running yj 3.5 BDS leafs up front and i had to put a 2" block in the rear to level it out. I had RE's 4.5leaf pack w/ the shackle for 5-1/2-6" lift. Now i'm higher than 6"...probably closer to 8". So to answer your question i'd stick with anything less than 3.5 if you want to stay around...
I ran w/o a trackbar for 6months....now that I have one, I wouldn't go back. I had to much play in the steering on the road than I cared for. Now that I put one on my steering a lot more response and don't allow for much roll or lag I'd get when make quick turns. Anyways I like it and it...
Has anyone tried making a bastard leaf pack for an xj using yj leaf springs?? Might have a good deal on a set of yj leafs. Looking at getting more out of my RE's 4.5leafs. Not sure about lengths of the yj leafs...just wondering they would be worth trying to get more height out of my current pack.
Yeah I know, I know, here I go trying to write a book with no pictures....lol. I'll make it easier and see if I can snap a few pics tonight....sorry about that guys.
I guess what i"m trying to get at... is a location mounting point for the bump stops. For the traditional place of putting them so they hit a leafspring plate or the axle housing isn't going to work. On the Driver side my Trackbar bracket on the frame side is right above the diff housing. On...
