I am planning on doing a fitch box to hold the relays with a cat-5 cable ran to a switch panel that had a main on-off switch and a on-on-on switch to turn on 3 different color led lights that I don't want on at the same time. I was thinking about a toggle or a rotary switch.
I would have a separate switch to turn the on-on-on switch on/off. I would use the on-on-on switch to turn on 3 different light configurations on but I don't want them on at the same time.
What about a hard plastic box that is used to hold snow skis and goes on top of a car? I don't know any dimensions but you might find a used one on ebay for cheap.
That is a pretty unique mod. Just a few questions.
Where do you plan on buying this? Why not just get a flip up sunroof?
In the post you link to, he said he paid $500. Personally I would spend the money on something else. Just my .02 but nice post.
**EDIT: I need to pick up my posting...
actuators aren't cheap. I did a quick google search and the around $100 for 12VDC. If you get one be sure it is rated for outdoor use. I didn't check but harbor freight might have some cheap ones.
How do you plan on making the front light bar swing down? Here is an idea. Some butterfly hinges on the bottom and an outdoor electric actuator that you use with a switch from inside the cab to lower the light bar and even aim the lights.
Just remove most of the roof and do a canvas top.:D I saw it some where on here I believe. Could be wrong. It looked like a vinyl tonneau cover but tan canvas. It would be sweet! Just need to add bracing to the roof.
How many gallons is that gas can? IMO the gas can carrier needs some vertical support. If it is a 5 gallon tank there is 30lbs of gas hanging out there at 6 lb/gal. Also IMO it is still going to rattle with the bolt into the nut that is welded on. nothing is keeping it from going side to side.
Shouldn't they be called anti-crush sleeves because they keep you from torqueing down whenever it is and "crushing" the frame?
There is my thought of the day.
