Adjustable LCAs vs RC CAD w/stock arms

And the caster angles were ok too? Also did the CAD/stock arms push your axle forward at all? I have read alot about that happening and people end up with their coils hitting their sway bar links and/or bumpstops. Although those experiences were mostly with adjustable CAs, not stock ones....

Adjustable LCAs vs RC CAD w/stock arms

I have a RC 3" lift now, and I just upgraded to some 31s. My RC double shear adjustable trackbar w/ frame end drop bracket arrived in the mail a few days ago. This part won't fit with my Jeep at 3" so I'm gonna do a spacer/shackle BB to get it up another 1.5-2". My question is, should I go with...

    track bar question

Don't forget you may need a drop pitman arm to realign your steering when using a trackbar with a frame end drop bracket. And alot of the trackbars with the drop bracket may not work with only 3" of lift...

    exhaust question!

Haha, it is a $70 glasspack isn't it, it's straight through design isn't entirely unlike Borla's mufflers. I liked the idea of a straight through design and a fully welded casing. A SuperTurbo is alot quieter, when I had the SuperTurbo it was a very mellow sound, I would recommend them to anyone...

    exhaust question!

I have a DynoMax UltraFlow on my Xj, with a magnaflow highflow cat, an ATP header and a full 2.5" exhaust to the tailpipe and it sounds great. i don't know why you would bash the UltraFlow, it's even fully welded and just as beefy as a Flowmaster. One thing though, is that any muffler you use...

    motor knocking

I'm not so savvy on 4.0L internals, but if they are anything like the AMC 4.2 I6s then in all likelyhood you have either worn rockers, or sticking lifters. Some folks think some miracle engine oil additive will solve this, but it's ofetn useless or only works for a few minutes/hours/days. In my...

    rubber fender trim?

Is there any reason why you couldn't get the autozone trim and use a stronger adhesive to attach it? I would think you may get better result that way. Maybe even giving the very edge a coat of primer or some other kind of rough textured paint in maybe a 1/4"-1/2" strip along the edge of the...

    Leafs/coils and shocks interchangeable?

Johnnie walker is right, I totally forgot about the ZJ V8 coils. There's also the leafs from an S10 that can be used for a bastard pack. If you were closer to me I've got my old stock springs that I'd be more than happy to give you, but I'm way down in FL...

    Leafs/coils and shocks interchangeable?

You could get both sets and do a XJ-XJ bastard pack, usually good for about 2" of lift. Also grab an extra pair of coil isolaters or two to level the front out. I don'yt know what your budget is, but i just thought I'd throw the idea out there!

1" pitman drop for XJ ??

Their pitman arm is pretty pricey at around $50, so I was hoping I could avoid having to purchase theirs. So I guess I'm gonna have to fork over the cash for some coil spacers and shackles sooner than i thought to make this work. They were in the build plan anyways, but not so soon, haha. Any...

1" pitman drop for XJ ??

I have noticed alot of this discussion has centered around lifts 4" and above. I have a 3" RC lift and I just ordered RC's double shear adjustable track bar with the frame end drop bracket. I was just going to grab a pitman arm from a V8 ZJ and use that to properly realign my steering angles...

    Custom Snorkel Type Intakes (Cowl)

A guy over on Cherokeeforum did this recently. Alot of junk in the thread, the actual writeup starts on page 3. http://www.cherokeeforum.com/f2/opinion-snorkel-setup-needed-19854/ I've been considering doing this too, though i want to try to do it without the corrugated (misspelled I'm sure)...

    New Member here in Orlando

FJOA FTW! Awesome forum with a fairly active classified section that can be an excellent resource for parts! Their XJ section leaves a little to be desired as usual, but one can't expect every forum to be as vast an XJ information resource as NAXJA now can they?

    florida

I'm in the Sarasota area, though I do most of my wheeling down in North Port/Pt. Charlotte area. I wheel my 2WD XJ without too many issues, you just have to wheel a little smarter, and take some obstacles with a bit more speed than some might advise at times, but I love it just the same. Then...

    Cylinder #3 misfire on restart

Insulating your #3 injector should work considerably well at solving your rough idle condition. I went ahead and insulated all of my injectors on a previous XJ and also insulated the fuel rail just for good measure and it completely eliminated my rough idle condition. Basically just doing...

    Cheap and easy backpack storage

That's a good tip. I use a backpack for my fishing tackle, after trying all different kinds of tackle storage this has been the easiest way to carry my tackle around a lake or on a long walk to a good fishing hole. Plus I can just bungee cord it down in the jeep and go! No more plastic tackle...

    Fog Light Suggestions

On my 95' I just ended up using two Wal-Mart specials mounted in the factory location for the earlier body style. They were 55w driving lights and they actually worked rather well. I ended up drilling two more holes evenly spaced between the factory ones and added another pair of the same cheapo...
