My XJ got alittle warm about 220-230 so I pulled over to see if the electric fan kick on and it did not. So I turned on the A/C to see if the fan would come on and it did. With the A/C on and the fan the temp came back down to 210. What would cause the fan not come on? But work when the A/C or...
Sorry about that it is a 94. I replaced the coolant temp switch with a cheap one from autozone so I don't know if that would make a difference and I have replaced the clutch fan.
My jeep is still running hot. It does not overheat it but gets right to the white line before the red on the guage and stops, but that is very rare that it gets that hot. I have replaced everything except the water pump even put a 3 row rad. in it. I have noticed that it seems to run cooler with...
At what temperature should the electric fan come on with the a/c off
I’m sure there is a temperature switch for the eclectic fan were is it located and could I install a lower temp switch so the fan will come on earlier?3. Would an exhaust leak cause the engine to run warm due to built up back...

Both hoses are good and the bottom one does have a spring in it. I have replaced the coolant temp switch on the t-stat house and the temperature switch on the back of the block near the fire wall. Also the elec. fan does work.
It is a 94 and yes it does not matter if the A/C is on or off. It stays cooler if the A/C is on. Here are the only things that I have not replaced on the cooling system, everything else is new. Water pump, and upper and lower hose.
My XJ has been getting up to about 220-225 on the temp. It only happens on little grades, sometimes around town, and sitting in the drive through. The temp normally comes back down but somtimes it doesent. But normally it sits at 210. I know the 4.0 runs hot but I just want to make sure it is...
Thanks for the help I will give it a try. Also I have replaced the temp switch (the one on the back of the motor next to the fire wall) with a mopar one from the delership. And I replaced the coolant temp sensor (the one on the t-stat housing) with one from autozone. Do you think that could play...
Thats kinda what I'm thinking. That is the only item that is not new. I did not replace it because it is not leaking, looks new and it is pumping water.
Thanks, for the replys. Which senders are you talking about? I have replaced the one that screws into the t-stat housing and the one on the back of the drivers side motor next to the fire wall. Is their any others?? Also the rad cap is brand new and it is a 16lbs.
My temp gauge sits at 210 most of the time. Sometimes on the highway or around town it goes to 220-225 and stops (a/c on or off). It always comes right back down to 210-215 and has never overheated. I have replaced the radiator with a 3 row, the t-stat with a mopar one, flushed the coolant...
