You've got to be kidding right? Removing the exhaust manifold and re-installing the new one is an all day job the first time you do it.
Take my word for it, buy a wobble extension. You'll need it!
I have an 89' 4.0l XJ with 171,000 miles on it. I've done some maintenance items such as replacing diff fluid, replacing coolant, new springs and shocks and a new exhaust manifold.
What else should I do to keep this baby running tip top?
Thanks to everyone for their help and advice on this. I took everything apart and retorqued the manifolds down with ALL the bolts, traced all the vaccuum lines and made sure all the sensors were hooked up properly.

Thanks for the help guys. What a pain in the ass the little sucker was. My friend just bought an 88 with 225k miles so he brought it over to change diff fluid, thermostat and other assorted items (we changed the diff fluid on mine too).
Here i thought changing the thermostat would be the easy...
I'm sure so many of you have changed you diff fluid so many times you could do it with your eyes closed.
Can someone give me a brief overview of what to expect? I've never changed diff fluids before...
TIA!
Hey guys, I just threw a 3" Rough Country lift on my 89' this weekend and I'm slapping on a set of 31" tires and new rims this week.
What should be my next modifications? I don't do a lot of off-roading, but I want to start dabbling in it more. I was considering upgrading my rear end to one...
