I agree. Every so often, I go to one of those garages that I know will come up with a long list of stuff that they figure needs to be done - just to get my own baseline, and then I go from there.
Thanks for the help everyone.
:dunce: Duh. I'm used to another forum where all that info is in my signature...
1996 4door XJ auto 4L I6. No ABS. Unsure of the rear axle. Pretty sure the front is D30. Np231 (comman-trac)
I'm getting the feeling that I've got to get under the Jeep to see what the rear axle is exactly...
Just like it says... anyone wanna weigh in on which they prefer? I'm installing a cone filter system, but haven't purchased the filter yet. I'm leaning toward the Dryflow 'cause I don't have to worry about oiling it, just wash and replace. That's just me being lazy. Are there any advantages...
New catalytic convertor... They wanted nearly $500 just for that installed. Battery was quoted at $150 installed and they wanted to perform some UV die leak test for the oil saying that there was a slow leak somewhere on the motor...
But about the rear seals... anyone have any comprehensive...
I just got a multi point inspection done on the jeep and they found (surprise!) about $1500 worth of work to be done... Now, I don't believe that I should pay $50 bucks for someone to change out my battery, so I'm wondering what else I can tackle on the list to save $$$...
They suggested that...
I'm getting some local feedback saying that this set up looks a bit flimsy... any rebuttal to that? I thought it looked half decent. It would be on my daily driver with a moderate lift - no hardcore wheeling... Anyone have any pics to post?
This seems to be a simple solution which adds strength to the XJ. Anyone using one or have any feedback?

I have searched for a step by step guide to installing some driving / fog lights to my XJ and have come up short. Can anyone help with instructions to adding lights (either to the front bumper or cowl... location still in the air) - especially the electrical wiring? I am a bit useless when it...
I had some sag prior to my budget lift. I put in new leaf packs and an add a leaf. A year and a half on, I'm happy with it. Lots of room for 30's.... shoulda bought 31's. Mine's a DD / Camping / Fishing truck. No heavy off roading...
Does anyone have any feedback on this combo?

I was thinking that it could be upgraded with a K&N drycharger filter wrap. Any comments / suggestions?
Thanks.
