    SYE + Driveshaft...under $100.00 (not 56k friendly)

I installed this SYE last night, Went easy, took about an hour. I have 5.5" of lift and with the 1" drop crossmember in place the front driveshaft I used from an automatic cherokee, (same as my front driveshaft) is almost too long. I am going to remove the drop and it should be ok, but at...

    Weird driveline noise...

My jeep makes the same noise, at the same time. Take out the rear driveshaft, put the jeep in 4x4 and drive around in front wheel drive. I'll put $10 on it being the slipyoke rattling around on the output shaft. At lifts over 3.5" on the newer cherokees the slipyoke is engaging on a...

    detroit electrac ... still around?

I bought it on e-bay. It is different then any other locker available as it is a torsion limited slip when unlocked. There are no wear parts, and when locked is "really" locked.

The electrac is really pretty neat. Just the limited slip part of it is really tight under power. It'll squeal the inside tire when turning. The locker portion seems to work slick. Overall it seems to be pretty well built, but we'll see once I actually get to wheel it some.

You could get a classic in 1996, NOT in 1997, and then in 1998 again. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeep_Cherokee_(XJ)#Trim_levels
