If it's not your DD, then why don't you just build long arms. if you space out the build your wife won't see it as that expensive. Also with all the trouble your going to go through to rebuild lower short arm mounts you might as well go with LAs.

Sounds like your Driver's side wheel bearing is shot. Change it out, and your noise should be gone. WB's are approx. $130, and don't take long to change.

The one your talking about is the Safari Guard bumper made by TrailReady, but I dont think they make it for XJs anymore, if they did i would definatly get one. but you could call em up and find out if they still make it.

I recently went to 33s and I am getting just a little bit less than what I did with 31s which was around 22mpg on the highway and 15 - 17 in town.

I have wheeled through mud and I have wheeled through rox and the rox are much more fun....but I have never been there either. I will be up for some serious rides when I can get gears done.

I know how that is, I'm from Heber Springs and no one there did anything but romp around in the mud. I am a fan of the rocks. But yeah there are a bunch of active jeepers up this way. Its nice having ppl to help ya out with your rig and go riding with.
