The TCM does communicate with the PCM, even though the PCM doesn't control the TCM. They are all on that CCD bus together.
Anyway, my info may be wrong, I seem to be working more on other types of cars these days, and most other vehicles seem to ignore Oxygen sensors while in reverse. I guess...
This is so similar to a problem we had with my buddie's 2000. It threw about the same amount of codes. That does seem symptomatic of an oxygen sensor failing, the PCM shouldn't care what the O2 sensors are doing in reverse, so most autos run great in reverse with a bad O2 but as soon as you go...
I've heard of power steering pumps on the newer ones making an incredible knocking sound. I know a guy who bought one because the previous owner took it to the dealer about a knocking noise, they told them they needed a new engine. They sold it to this guy for about $500. He got to messing...
4.0 from 99-04 WJ or 00-04 TJ
You could drop in a 4.7 but you'd hafta change out the PCM as well as a few other things that I won't go into detail because I'm not as sharp on WJs (this is an XJ forum!)
96 XJ, while old body, is OBDII and the sole temp sender is in the thermostat housing.
By ambient temperatures, we mean "how cold is it outside?" This will greatly affect the cooling/heating of the rig.
You shouldn't have a problem swapping it all over. They did changed head casts in 96, but not enough to make a difference for what you're doing...I think all they did was close the boss for the old temp sender. What rear axle does your old one have and what rear axle does the new one have? The...
I've had a 99 XJ OHC for a while and was getting around to fixing it and installing it. The thing was fairly mangled and dirty, so I was in the process of cleaning it etc. when I was at the local PNP and saw the little OHC out of a WJ clunker. For $13 I figured I'd grab it. Took it home and...
Just FYI for everyone, the Haynes manual says it goes up to 2001, but it actually stops at '95. And now here's one of the key differences from 95 to 96, the fuel delivery system changed. Dunno about Chilton's book, but I'm 95% sure they're the same people :)
Yeah I was kind of thinking shift solenoid when he said he can turn it off and back on in OD and it goes into OD, but his reverse lights aren't working either and PO705 is the "NSS" and he's not throwing any other codes, at least he didn't mention any. At any rate we should be able to get his...
From the 01 XJ FSM: "P0705 CHECK SHIFTER SIGNAL (RANGE SENSOR)"
Ok, so no need to have changed the TPS yet, but I suppose a new one can't hurt anything lol.
The Range Sensor they mention is the NSS for earlier years, so you were right to go there, but the problem may be in the wiring too. You...
Well, when I replaced my rear main seal, I went ahead and replaced the mains since I was there. With 250k on em, the new mains brought my oil pressure up quite noticeably.
x2 on the tcase. They'll run for a while "broke" but when the innards get jumbled that's it. Notice how the drive shafts come out of the tcase, so when the tcase gears don't move, your jeep doesn't move. Thats why your tranny can be in gear and your tcase in neutral and you can't move.
Also forgot to mention: when converting from our lights to euro E class, the light spread is TOTALLY different! I'm finding it somewhat annoying actually. Even after re-alignment they don't seem to shoot as far left-to-right as the Western lights do...however they run on forever without...
Um, let me find the ones that I bought.

He should have another one up by now. Get the one for the H4 because, simply, it's the bulb you will have. One thing that I did notice with the...
