Parked my 89 xj in a lot came back and it won't start lights won't come on anywhere! Just replaced the battery ecu CPs sensor and starter relay! Didn't give me any warnings to a problem and no blown fuses! Could it be relays? Got the battery tested its 100% It's stuck on the wrong side of town...
The yellow wire comes from the alternator and splices into another yellow wire which connects to a big 6 prong plug. The yellow wire splices 3 ways those 2 ways and around the radiator on the main harness so if that grounds on the unibody what most likely blew I cannot find any more shorts took...
I replaced the starter relay! Still nothing got it back into the garage and I'm about yo go to the junkyard to get an ecu! Could that be the what fried? Strong burnt electrical smell when it died! Yellow wire has 12 volts coming off of it where it pinched
Help I bumped into something and pinched a yellow wire on the front of my 89 and shorted the whole jeep! No ignition no gauges. Battery has charge lights work power too starter? So what could it be ecu? Please help it ****ed up on my way to work!!!
im still not sure what was wrong with it. luckily i have an identical jeep in my back yard i can rob parts off of so i just started replacing everything. i saw spark after i replaced the ecu but i also replaced the coil right befor and put a different battery in it so who knows. i was thinking...
GOT IT STARTED!!! :clap: timing needed to be adjusted so i fooled with the distributer and it fired up but is backfiring really loud. im confused by this distributer do i just keep adjusting it 180 to dial it in or does the computer reset it or whats the deal with this thing?

replaced the coil and the ecu still no start. what could it possably be? its getting spark and its getting fuel in the rail. what controls the injectors the ecu? is it timing?
yes i have 12v coming out of the coil. nothing from the distributer. replaced distributer and still nothing. replacing coil right now and charging. wish me luck.:smoker:

its kinda fast but then it slows down after it cranks for a little. and sometimes it cuts out mid stroke and then kicks back in while trying to start.
the other day i used an arc welder on my 89 and forgot to disconnect my battery now i cant get it to start. it cranks over its got fuel pressure everything else seems ok untill i get to the plug wires for my distributer. its getting charge (11/12) volts from the coil but after that i have no...
well its an 89 im not sure exactly what transmission whats a good way to figure that out. and it only shifts into 3rd and reverse but its really hard. clutch is soft and goes to the floor and has alot of play. when in gear it bogs really bad and usually cuts off. any ideas.
