    1989 Cherokee project

A local Raleigh guy bought it. He owns some kind of shop, and had several other lifted XJs so I figured he was a solid candidate for adoption.

    1989 Cherokee project

Ha, well actually I do kind of want it back. Never would have sold it if I didn't already have to drive 1200 miles with multiple vehicles. Towing would have made it even worse. But now I have the opportunity to build a new XJ ;)

    1989 Cherokee project

Yeah me too...I would have much rather have had it go to someone on NAXJA so I could track its life after I let it go

    1989 Cherokee project

Hey everyone, I just wanted to post up to confirm that the Jeep has been sold. I apologize for not posting up as soon as it happened, but I was literally in the middle of moving and had turned off our internet. Very sad to see it go, but glad I didn't have to tow it across half the country along...

    1989 Cherokee project

I've had a few questions asked by email or PM, so I thought I'd post the answers here: I bought the XJ about five years ago, and it's been sort of an off and on project for me. Unfortunately, I haven't gotten to wheel it yet and I don't DD it so I can't really speak to its road worthiness...

    1989 Cherokee project

I'd tow it for that trip. Plus, free trailer!

    1989 Cherokee project

Well, I guess that depends on what you mean by "roadworthy" It runs, drives, and stops, but the current lift height plus suspension geometry make it a little less stable than what I would want to drive on the road. If you put the long arms on it, got the suspension geometry dialed in, and got...

    1989 Cherokee project

For sale: 1989 Cherokee Pioneer 4.0 AW4 Why am I selling? I’m moving, and I haven’t really had to time to finish this project up and wheel it. Rather than drag this thing half way across the country I thought I’d try to find it a good home on NAXJA. As for me, well, I don’t post much but...

needed transmission and t-case and dana 30

I have a 21 spline AW4 from a 1990 if that's what you need. I will be scrapping it in the next couple weeks unless someone wants it.

    TNT frame stiffeners

I bought a set last week from Bob over the phone, and UPS says I have a package from CHEYENNE, WY (that's Treks) arriving today. Just call him up and ask if he has them in stock.

    WANTED: stock leaf springs

I'm looking for a set of stock leaf springs to supplement my bastard pack, and I figured I'd put out a feeler here before I head to the junkyard. I'm in Newark DE so anywhere between Baltimore and Philly would probably be worth the drive. TIA

Potential Problem with Ruffstuff 14 Bolt Brake Brackets......

I got mine monday, thanks Dan. The envelope was a little beat up, but I'd be more worried about the mail carrier getting hurt on the brackets than the other way around.

    Shackle relocation brackets!! YAY!

Re: Shackle relocation brackets 130 to your door Just ordered a set of these...looking forward to fixing my awful shackle angle.

Potential Problem with Ruffstuff 14 Bolt Brake Brackets......

I was one of the guys that got sent the "off" brackets, and Dan in fact just called me up to let me know they'd be sending out the new brackets tomorrow. Even though this doesn't affect my build at all (these are for a tow rig) he was still very apologetic. I can't say enough good about the high...

New Fab shop in central Pa.

I'm familiar with Timmay's work from Pirate and Jeepin, he does some really slick stuff. What kind of shop is he opening?

things you found in a junkyard

I brought a buddy along to the yard to help out, and while I was pulling something else he found a picture of some girls with puff daddy. It was not incriminating.

    ac delete

I deleted the AC on my 89 by moving the alternator up to the AC compressors spot in the belt routing. Best part is it only costs you a new belt and a few bolts. There's another way to do it by using the old AC bracket as well, referenced in my thread...

Another way to mount your alternator up high

I haven't spent much time looking at 91-01 AC and alternator brackets, but it seems like you should be able to make a composite/hacked bracket that would mount the alternator in place of the AC in just about any version of the 4.0. Plus cutting aluminum is really fun, and you don't have to...
