New fan blower motor but still doesn't move alot of air?

thanks for the write up but I checked it and when I pulled it out it would only work on hi but when I put in back in it works the same as usuall on all 3 speeds so I think the resistor is good. Strange, new blower motor resitor is good, but still the fan speed barley changes from medium to high.

Open radiator conversion, now just need an overflow bottle

I have a 1990 XJ that I did an open coolany system converison on that rocks but the one small thing I have left is to find a coolant overflow bottle that will fit and bolt to the firewall where the stock one sat. Any one now of a good fit for this? I tried a 1996 xj bottle but it does not fit...

New fan blower motor but still doesn't move alot of air?

I have an xj that I just put a new fan blower motor in for the heater/ac. It works well but it seems like when you go from the medium speed setting to the hi setting it doesn't change much at all. Is there a realy of the fan controls them selves that might be causing another issue here? Thanks.

1996 Coolant over flow bottle question

Doing an open coolant conversion on a 1990 cherokee and was told to use a factory overflow bottle for a 1996 cherokee. This may sound dumb but there are 2 outlets for small hoses on the top of the bottle. One is the overflow and I'm assuming the other goes back into the top of the radiator...

Harmonic Balancer, how do I know when it's at the right spot on the crank??

LOL, no problem. I think I'm going to run it in as far as I can and it should bottom out agains the oil slinger and the timing gear. Then just torque the retainer bold down and I'm set. I guess if you think about it the crank has no point on it from the front of the crank where you slide it on...

Harmonic Balancer, how do I know when it's at the right spot on the crank??

Mine had an oil slinger when I took off the timing cover, I had to replace the timing chain and gears. I talked with the engine tech's at Hesco and they said that I had to have the oil slinger and that I could just put on the HB with it. I really trust those guys but never got a chance to ask...

Harmonic Balancer, how do I know when it's at the right spot on the crank??

I have a 1990 XJ that I have just insalled a new harmonic balancer on. I used the installer tool from Auto Zone and for the most part it's on. My concern is how do I know where the balancer is supposed to stop on the crank? Let me explain, while insalling it to me it appears that it's pretty...

    Power stearing pulley change???

I have a 1990 XJ that has a cracked power stearking pulley that I need to change out. I did some reaseach in to this and was told to use a puller to pull it off the pump shaft. After multiple tries I just end up breaking more of the pulley around the edges. I'm I missing something here?? Or is...

    Timing chain dry not oiled??

I think I would really like to go with the double roller chain, is there a brand that you would reccomend? Do the double rollers still use the oil slinger?

    Timing chain dry not oiled??

I have been looking into the double roller timing chains to help eliminate the stretching? Has anyone installed one on a 4.0??

    Timing chain dry not oiled??

I have a 1990 XJ 4.0 and I'm getting ready to replace the timing chain on it. I have the timing cover off and can see the chain and gears. My question is, are the chain and gears suposed to be very wet with oil? When I pulled my cover off I didn't have any oil drip on out at all, like it was...

Have gas and spark but will not fire???

Hmm, then maybe it didn't because I did have tdc with both valves open, I made sure of that! Strange. I did do some more looking and found a vacume line that was not sealing up very well, got that good and snug and changed the oil and to my suprise it runs great now! In fact it has never ran...
