    lets here your thoughts

I wouldn't say clear corners are "ricey", as they are much more common on european vehicles than japanese ones. Smoked lights are not only stupid, they're ugly. THEY belong on ricers. But yeah if you get clear corners definately get some amber bulbs. I think clear bulbs and lenses are...

    93 HO head/200o block

You can get a non-ratcheting Stant cap for your 00 valve cover from Rockauto.com. The alu valve covers are ok, but I broke one (cracked the metal badly) at a junkyard once prying on the cap with a screwdriver relatively gently.

    0331 head change results

Hey, Great job! The torque doesn't need to be rechecked as the 4.0 is a low compression engine, provided you are sure you set them right the first time. Joe

    ABS...winter

I pulled the ABS relay on my bro's zj when he blew a wheel sensor, and it the brakes feel much better for it. I didn't bother pulling the fuses but supposedly if you pull both the abs light won't come on. Joe

    Replacement heater hose (hard line)

Hey, I'm looking to replace the lil 90 degree hard line heater hose that threads into the upper left portion of the waterpump. (mine is rusty and has a pinhole leak). Does anyone have a part number on this or perhaps a good ghetto solution? I'd hate to have to go to the dealer. The guys at the...

new rings why is my 4.0L still smoking?

Sounds like valve stem seals if you have good compression. It is possible to replace the seals without pulling the head on the 4.0, it has "umbrella" seals...

    The "END-ALL" AC thread 97-01

Finally got around to fixing everything tonight. Defogs the windshield like nothing on earth. I used a postal scale to keep the fill level perfect... worked great. As a follow-up on the parts I bought, I was happy with all of them except the orifice tube i got from autoairplus.com - it didn't...

    Cat Rattling

Next time you hear it try pressing physically down on your transfercase shifter. The bushings in the linkage wear out, and it gets rattly. You'd be amazed at how annoying it is. Try hitting the cat with a dead-blow hammer, if it does nothing, it's not the cat. If it rattles, it is the cat. If...

Which wire for fuel-pump kill switch...?

I could be wrong but a switchable negative ground sounds like an idiotic electrical design to me... wouldn't it be better to switch the positive side? I don't know much about DC wiring though.

ACKits.com has one for 78. AutoAirPlus.com has one for around the same.

    Cold Air Intake

No it can't be done, the 4.0 is a hot air engine. Just kidding, but a cold air intake will gain you NOTHING.

    XJ Coolant

50/50 Prestone, distilled. Get the mix right - more AF and the cooling system will actually be LESS efficient. Anything other than distilled and the inside of your block will end up covered in deposits.

    Bad Heater Core?

That tech is a MORON... I did this on a 99 with basic tools, it took about that long, and everything went fine and it all works. Interior work is not the place for clumsy idiots.

    Bad Heater Core?

Its all labor, if you do it or you pay someone to do it, might as well get the evaporator core done too...
