    90 Renix randomly dies

90 Renix manual tranny... It is a testimonial to the Renix XJ engine system that I have not had any issues with it for years. Recently I noticed that my 5 year old exhaust manifold was cracked so when the Jeep died on the freeway and restarted after a couple of minutes and then died on me a...

    89 and 90 steering differences

Does anyone know what is different about 89 and 90 power steering pumps? On Rock Auto and other sites they list a different pump for those years than other Renix years.... Anyway just curious. I will explore the junkyard at some point to compare but wondered if anyone knew.

    Yet another Renix overheating thread

This issue has been extensively documented here by people like EcoMike but I thought I would do my own thread as I diagnose and repair mine. I have a 1990 Cherokee that had a 300K wonder of an engine. Always ran in the 190-200 degree range, occasionally spiking up to 210 going uphill on the...

    Lynwood pull apart

89 Blue Laredo on the back row. It looks like it has a tow package and Dana 44 rear axle. Someone has pushed it of it's wheel supports so that the axle is pretty buried (on purpose maybe?) so do not hold me to it but I am fairly sure. Right now no one has started to tear into the axle.

    NP231J oil pump locating tabs

So I have now picked up 2 replacement pumps for my tc The locating tabs do not match the recesses in the cover. The first pump I thought was sent in error from Foothills offroad. When I reassembled the case after rebuilding it and putting in a SYE I just kept the original pump. The tabs do line...

    Tera Flex revolver shackles

So I picked up a set of these used. Have been sort of obsessively researching them so have a sense of the pros and cons. I was interested in what NW XJ owners think about the applicability to the trails here. Best description of what my rig is used for is wheeling, fishing, general...

    Anyone driving Portland Seattle soon?

Need to get some RE Leaf springs from some unabashed right wing zealot, (Richard Cranium) up to Seattle. I sometimes go down there for work but do not have anything in my schedule soon. So if there is anyone headed down, or up in the near future who could help transport them I would be happy...

    Engine rebuilders in Northwest

Anyone know if these guys are any good? http://www.enginesr.us/home.htm Was thinking of doing an engine rebuild this winter but frankly if I can get one from these guys for $1200 it is kind of a no brainer. Still might do it myself but was wondering if anyone else has used them.

    New cage..

Am very pleased with this. I tried to make this as transferable as possible to another vehicle. (if I ever use it :-) I went with tying in to the existing AJ's rock rails as I could not get a decent price for them and the ground clearance lost is not a ton. This exceeds my needs for storage and...

    Another fuel pump thread long

So back in April I installed a Carter fuel pump. This weekend, of course in the middle of nowhere it died. Essentially seized up. Direct current to the pigtail produced the faint thunk of a seized electric motor (confirmed when I got the pump out). Did a run to a not so local Schucks and...
