Woohooo! past the first 2 of 8 ASE!

Dang Tom, if I still lived in California I would be hitting you up for a job! Working on flat rate is starting to get old. BTW, ASE has been good to me. In 2010 I won Lexus/ASE Master Technician of the Year, got a Caribbean cruise for the prize. Then last year this thing showed up in the mail...

How do we like the wj?

You guys are sure tough to please! If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Seems like it would be easier to address whatever goes wrong with the 4.7, if it fails, rather than trying to engineer something better. I really love the way my 4.7 runs. It is smooth, quiet, powerful and gets better...

Does anyone recognize this part - 2004 WJ

That is the evap system purge valve. It is duty-cycle controlled, hence the clicking sound. The green cap covers the test port, where a technician can check for leaks of the fuel tank.

How do we like the wj?

This popped up in the Albuquerque Journal classifieds this morning: Somebody needs to give it a loving home!

How do we like the wj?

Dish up, Joe - What sort of problems soured you on the WJ? Real world experiences like yours will help others decide if the WJ is the right choice or would it be better to move on to something else. :)

    Poison Spider Mesa 10-10-13

Thanks for the pics Jeff, that was a fun day!

How do we like the wj?

Sounds like a lot of work for a daily/mild off road rig! Yes, blend doors are a problem with the WJ. Lucky for me the heater core leaked so I was presented with the opportunity to pull my heater box. While it was out I replaced the left & right blend doors and the recirc door with some nice...

How do we like the wj?

Don't buy anything other than an 02-04 Overland. I have had a lot of fun and gone a lot of places with mine. It currently has 160k on the clock and yes, I have fixed a few things along the way. They do depreciate quickly, that works to our advantage. :) BTW, this is what I had for 10...

    Things you don't see everyday...

It's a hot air balloon... you can't plan your landing site like an airplane or chopper. :)

Fall Fling 2014 Would you show up?

I moved to the Southwest in part to be closer to Moab and the surrounding Canyon Country. Randy (IntrepidXJ) did the same. How may people uproot themselves to be closer to Raush Creek or Harlan or Big Dogs? I am pretty sure if the experience of visiting those places were better than Moab we...

NAXJA 30th Anniversary of the XJ Celebration / Fall Fling 2013 PICTURES!!!!

I agree with you about NM web wheelers. Let's get together for lunch this week and you can tell me about all of the fun things that were happening here Oct. 8 - 12. :D

How we can do better next time:

I'd be willing to take on a newbie. I showed Mitch around on Fins-n-Things, it was his first trip to Moab. It was a blast! He had a smile that would barely fit back into his Jeep. That was the guy we were looking to buy your towhooks for. His XJ was as stock as could be! One other suggestion...

Fall Fling 2014 Would you show up?

We could also resurrect the Spring IC Moab trip for those who want a shorter, more casual trip. Put an invite in non-tech or the foreign chapter forums. I can not honestly say if I will make the 2014 Fall Fling. I only get 2 weeks PTO, I had to take a couple of unpaid weeks to fit in everything...

How we can do better next time:

I think nametags are a great idea too. Have our screen name and real name on them. Maybe put our screen name on the back window of our Jeep with shoe polish? It would probably last about one day before becoming covered in dust. To that end I also have a habit of "forcing" everybody to introduce...

TORXreport: Moab - 30th XJ Anniversary Event

Thanks for the comprehensive trip report! The version I have heard of this superstition is that it is bad luck to run over the Gooney Bird's toes. Hence the part of the road that swings wide of the bird. Did he rub them with his hand... or his tires? The curse of the Gooney Bird?

I wish you could have gone, Glenn. The Duke City Chapter could have represented!

All my pictures from the trip

Thanks for the photos, Jeff! It was nice wheeling with you and your family. It looks like plenty of people were able to hike to Delicate Arch. Was the road to the parking area open?

You popped out too quickly and with too little drama. :)

Stories, ups, downs, carnage, thoughts, etc

Kelly, I don't really care much about Jeeps any more but you really impressed me after your sloooooow tipover in the Wedgie. All of the witnesses took the bypass but you drove right down it after getting back on 4 wheels. That was one of the more memorable experiences for me that week!
