    "Ghetto" hood lift rain issues?

Thanks all for your responses. I just went to gojeep.com and found what I was looking for in a writeup about 260Z bonnet vents: "Don't do as others have done and add them near the middle (of the hood) and have to replace the TPS all the time which will happen!"

    "Ghetto" hood lift rain issues?

Throttle Position Sensor gets wet? Where is that located? (near the throttle body I'm guessing?) Where did u locate your hood vents? Is it likely that the opening from the ghetto lift will get water over to the TPS? THANKS!

    "Ghetto" hood lift rain issues?

I have the windshield end of my hood lifted an inch for cooling. Now I live in SoCal and have not gone thru the winter/rainy season yet with this set up. Has anyone who has been thru many months of off and on rainy weather AND this same hood lift have any electrical problems? I don't want...

    Thermostat fan switch question

Could use DINO's help here... Actually, Wayne made me think... Seeing that both of those sensors have leads that send a varied "amount of power" to either the computer or the gauge, I wonder if I can simply splice into the lead that send the signal to the computer, and use the new splice for...

    Thermostat fan switch question

Sorry - I should have mentioned that I already have a brass T-fitting. Its a 98 4.0 and the factory sensor plugs into the brass T-fitting and the T-fitting plugs into the thermo housing. I'm not sure how many of these T-fittings I can piggy-back? Does anyone make a 3-female to 1-male...

    Thermostat fan switch question

I'm thinking about getting this 195-thermostat kit to drive the electric fan which will be replacing my stock clutch fan: http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?lang=-1&catalogId=10002&storeId=10001&categoryId=29209 I currently have a brass temperature sensor that drives...

Elec fan replacing stock clutch fan

First off, yes, I read MANY postings after doing a search and I still don't get it. I'm thinking about getting this 2000 cfm electric fan to replace my metal fan BLADE only...

Yella Terra 1.7 (not 1.6) (Yo Dyno)

Intake: Lobe lift 0.255" x 1.6 rocker arm ratio = 0.408" valve lift Lobe lift 0.255" x 1.7 rocker arm ratio = 0.433" valve lift Exhaust: Lobe lift 0.259" x 1.6 rocker arm ratio = 0.414" valve lift Lobe lift 0.259" x 1.7 rocker arm ratio = 0.440" valve lift Thanks for the math Dino. So what...

Yella Terra 1.7 (not 1.6) (Yo Dyno)

Uh, I know I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed, but what does that mean the final lift would be if I started with a .414 lift? .414 X 1.70 = .704 (No cam has this much lift) .414 X .17 = nahhh 414 X .17 = 70.38 then ??? You can see, I'm no math major... HELP!

Yella Terra 1.7 (not 1.6) (Yo Dyno)

I just spent 15 mins on this board reading about YT's roller rockers but still did not see my question answered. Let me apologize in advance for my ignorance on this subject... From what I can glean, it seems that just bolting in the 1.7's the cam lift will jump about .020 - is this true? I...

Directions - map sensor adjuster for 98 4.0

Carts. No. When I say 5volts I mean "around" 5 volts. Don't get hung up on the voltage my rig uses. I have a lousy gauge that I swear reads just over 4 volts for stock. That gauge shows my best setting to be less than 5 volts. Again, its a lousy gauge. You need to just hook up yours, start...

Directions - map sensor adjuster for 98 4.0

Well work was Well work was slow today so I thought I’d make my contribution to this and the other Jeep forums I’m a member of. I know many of you have been waiting for something like this. I apologize in advance for no photos as a digital camera is not available. Also, DO NOT DO THIS MOD IF...

    Performance Injector Size for 98

Here's what I followed: http://www.jeepbarracks.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=18 I cannot say exactly the output voltage of my unit. My gauge sucks. Its graduations are way too small. All I can tell is its more than stock and less than 6 volts. Besides, what I'm running may not...

    Performance Injector Size for 98

My adjustable MAP works great on my 98 4.0 auto. There's gains at every rpm and I have all the bolt-ons. Get your 12-volt source from your cigarette lighter and tie-into the (1 of 3) wire (orange)nearest the passenger side. Do NOT use any other chips or cpu mods with this. Spend $17 at...

How do I do a partial dash removal?

QWERT247 is THE man! I just popped it off in 2 seconds at my lunch break. EXCELLENT TIP! Great method! Now I can also replace my horrid stock radio pretty easily too, it seems. THANKS A BUNCH!

How do I do a partial dash removal?

Hi. Has anyone removed that ONE-PIECE plastic molding that surrounds the climate controls, radio and cigarette lighter? I need to access the 12-volt source to the cigarette lighter and I'm hoping this is enough removal to get to it. Do I put a screwdriver behind the uppermost section and...

    "Key-on" 12-volt source

No. Its 12 volts into the unit and about 5 volts out of it. The unit allows you to adjust your output voltage from around 4 volts to 6 volts. I will set mine to about 5.6 volts and see what happens. The output 5.6 volt line will be spliced into the stock 5-volt line that goes to the MAP...

    "Key-on" 12-volt source

Ok, call me a dummy... I was just about to connect my new MAP adjuster to a CONSTANT 12-volt source when it occurred to me it was probably a bad idea. I know the cigarette lighter will only work with the ignition on and the fuel pump also, but I don't want to pull the dash apart for the former...
