I've come to you guys before and have always had good luck so here goes. I've changed all the hoses. I've changed the radiator. I changed the bottle. I changed the water pump. I changed the thermostat several times. The entire cooling system has been replaced. I have flushed the engine block...
Less than a half-hour ago I posted a new thread on this site asking for information on vent hoods. Guess what? Not only did I get my answer. But a complete description as to how to do the job and addressed all the water problems that I had floating in my head this site is just unbelievable...
Thinking of cutting holes in my hood to install vents. Very scary! I haven't found anyone in my searches that has discussed water coming in on the engine. Copious amounts of cold rain water on hot engine can't be good! Is there anybody out there that wants to encourage me or talked me out of it?
I live in Minnesota and have no real need for air conditioning. It doesn't work well anyhow. After I get the freon professionally removed, what problems am I going to run into in removing the system? By the way this is a 1989 xj with a 4.0. As always in advance, thanks a lot!
My ride is a 89XJ with the 4.0. I had a throttle body cable sticking problem, but I have eliminated that by lubrication. I also had a problem with the cable going to the transmission from the throttle body, but I've disconnected that. When I turned the key on to start position engine starts...
Can anyone tell me what instrument I need to purchase for testing my 1989XJ? All the parts stores around here, just give me the its too old , I don't know, we'll never find one. But with all the code reading that goes on on this site. I have every confidence that there's somebody out there...
Has anybody used undercoating material on the outside or on their bumpers? I have been told that 3M makes a great undercoating material. But I like to hear from somebody else. Any deterioration from uv, peeling, chipping, anything adverse?
:wave1: Ordered new bumpers from JCR off-road. Any good ideas on finishing these things? Thinking of using rubberized under coating. Anything I should be doing to the vehicle in preparation for mounting other than using their kit. Anybody with experience out there. Thank you !!!!
I have an 89 XJ, and I'm getting rid of the ABS system. I want to go to standard power assessed. Any help out there? Don't tell me not to, as I've already started.
