OK.....so here is the final verdict!!! (Drum Roll...) The problem was fixed by replacing the ECM!!! I took it to another mechanic first....who spent two weeks trying to figure it out. He couldn't....and he didn't think it was the ECM either. But he couldn't figure it out. So I finally...

I was inclined to think the same thing! Perhaps I'm missing something, but why would a failed driver in the ECM cause O2 sensor fuses to blow?

Does anyone know if I can use an ECm from a 97 Renix (P56041 274AD) with a 2001 (PS56041 795AD)? Both are manual transmissions.

Thanks for the reality check on the ECM. My codes are: P0135 P0141 P0161 P1196 (Pending) I tried that little trick with the pocket scanner.....but the problem is that the computer has to reset in order for it to pass. When you first erase and scan immediately after - the MIL is off.....and...

I definitely know my PCM went bad. Just looking for a RELIABLE place to get a used one - where they can reflash it. This is a DD, so I want it to run like it's supposed to - but I'm trying to avoid buying a new one if I can help it. Any suggestions on where to get a used one? Are there any...

How long have you had your rebuilt ECM?

Oh....there is definitely some circuitry inside. You can get a better sense in this photo for a JGC ECM...

I wish it was that cheap up here... ECM's run about $100 at the junk yards near me....and the dealer would charge another $150-$200. I just don't want something that will leave me stranded on the side of the road....with my 2 year old in the back seat....ya' know!?!?!

Really? How long ago was this? And it's still working great? Unfortunately, I need it to pass inspection.....so I might have to have it reflashed.....I think.

How long has yours lasted, and where did you buy it? There are a lot of horror stories of exchanging these things every month with some of the companies out there.
