Locked up my motor on the way to work, looking to replace it. I’d like to put a new/rebuilt in instead of a jy special. Im looking for recommendations on a good stock replacement that wont break the bank. Not hearing a lot of good on atk or titan, cant afford a stroker..what options are out...

Im not against recommendations on someone that can do a solid rebuild either.

Yep thats almost my backyard. Im 30 minutes from Philbrook res. now that the road got paved. theres a ton of trails and logging roads up there, awesome camping, etc..

so a long overdue update (and repair). The gasket I put in when I had it apart last time was an autozone special and didn't fully make a seal around one of the intake ports. I put in a felpro with a good coating of coppercote and it runs and idles like new.

wouldn't that get into the area needed by the tire? To me, it sounds easier to just shorten your TB to fit any mount.

Apn? Cheap and easy. I've had one for 4 or 5 years with no problems I didn't create myself. I would highly recommend a flexible piece somewheres in line. I mounted mine rigid and had a hanger fail which eventually cracked the manifold.

i've got a broken exhaust hanger that makes a similar noise.

Work/life has kept me stupid busy over the last few days and fixing it hasnt happened yet. I put a new gasket as well as the coppercote when i put the APN manifold on it and have checked the bolts I could reach a few times. If I ever get a day off again I'll gumby up and get back to them last bolts.

looks like vac leak is the culprit. when I spray the back of the intake on the underside, the idle drops and just about dies. stop spraying and right back to 2 grand. I guess I need to grow some gumby arms and get back in there. hopefully the gasket is still ok, probably not with my luck but I...
