If you don't already compare your prices to rock auto I recommend it. Most of the times parts stores are selling the same parts as rockauto only they mark them up ridiculously. I go by brands and model numbers. That same Flexplate sells for almost $50 in store. I started comparing everything...
So my 00 4.0 (cali emissions) aw4 DD has a suspected cracked flexplate. I want to get this swapped out in one day as it is my commuter. When looking at flex plates at both advance auto and rock auto, ATP shows 2 different plates for an auto. a .02 difference in diameter and one is "with...
From what i have researched it's a weird size, m10 in a weird length. Also has the welded tab, was hoping someone had one just chilling on a shelf but was going to try and find a match.
Need a front driveshaft for my 00 auto. I completely forgot I took it out this summer because the carden joint had to be rebuilt and now need one before the snow Tuesday. I am working till 7pm tomorrow but can travel within reason to get one in the MA/CT/RI border. Help a brother out? I also...
Trying to install a used rk 3 link gen 2 we bought a few years ago and never even though the joints may not come out but sure enough all 3 flex joints the jam nuts come off but we can't get the joints to spin. We were planning on just putting all new joints in the arms. Last attempt I tried at...
Heater core shouldn't effect your cooling negatively if it is plugged. Just means no heat. Only way it can cause an overheat is if it is leaking and you are loosing coolant but you tend to notice it. Maybe a cracked cylinder head? 00 and 01s are prone to cracking between cylinder 3/4 but...
33s with 3.55 and a lot more weight and it handled it fine. Braking sorta sucked since the trailers brakes were not working right. If you have an auto I would recommend a transmission cooler.
:edit: on second thought I might have had 4.10 gears then.
pretty sure when we did my buds xj the book says they can be reused once and to indicate it with paint, we just bought new because we don't trust other people lol. I have a set you can have. Should only have been used once in a 97.
Need an injector for my 00 xj (cali emissions if it makes a difference). Really just need one (mine is starting to have a crack developing in just one). Anyone got an extra kicking around? I'm in central MA but will pay for shipping.
I probably put about 30k on my cracked head. Always lost coolant, probably smoked the lower end. I ended up just doing a rebuild with a 99 block and a TUPY head. I think you have time driving it as long as you pay attention to coolant levels.
exact same thing happened to me, found out i had a cracked head between cylinders 3/4. Few months later I got bad low end noise too. Am in the middle of a swap now. Got a TUPY casting head of a late 02-04 wj. Not prone to cracking. Didn't have the funds for a new clearwater.
To give you an idea I have bought a matching set of axles. A HP dana 30 and 8.25 29 spline for $200 for the pair. To buy upgraded axle shafts alone you are looking at more then that. Just pick up a jeep with a good shell/drive train. If it has the 8.25 27 or 29 just wheel it. I would just...
