    Interior structure question

One of many projects, I'm replaceing the floor pans. I've already cut out the driver side and moving to the passenger side. Underneath the rear seat are two cross pieces that go from the rocker to the tunnel. These had to be cut out along with the floor pans. I didn't necessarily do a clean job...

    4.0 won't turn

Project rustbucket continues. I was able to spin the engine with a breaker bar when I purchased the jeep. It turned easily and didnt make any unusual sounds. Fast forward to about a month ago. I removed the engine from the XJ to do some rust repair and other things. The engine has been sitting...

    Brake pad question

First time jeep owner, so I'm not familiar with the nuances of working on jeeps. 1995 Cherokee that sat under a tree for a year. Obviously, I'm replacing a lot of stuff. Currently working on the front brakes. I've replaced the wheel hubs, rotors, got new calipers, pads, etc. I have installed the...

    front drive shaft removal

Thanks for all the replies. To those that said they used a socket, I'm curious how you did it. I can't get a socket and ratchet on the bolt. Not enough room. The socket goes on but there isn't enough room for the ratchet. That's using a 1/4 inch drive. Anyway, I'll try a 8mm box end.

    front drive shaft removal

Running into a little problem getting the front drive shaft off. The bolts on the yoke at the axle came out with no issue. The bolts at the TC are giving me a headache. It appears they are 5/16 and a socket fits fine, but the ratchet won't fit so I tried a 5/16 and 8mm open end wrench. Too much...

    Rear seat crossmember

Yep, that's it. I'm not much on fabrication other than basics. I was hoping to find one intact.

    Rear seat crossmember

New to the forum, so Hello everyone! I have recently acquired my first xj. Known affectionately as Project Rustbucket. I'm cutting out the floors and am having a little trouble finding a few parts. BTW it's a 95 4 door Country. The crossmember under the rear seat had to go and I tore it up...

    Fuel pump problem

Thanks for all the feedback. Yes, it has a regulator on the fuel rail and yes it has a return line. I just purchased a '93 pump. I'll let you know if it works when it comes in.

    Fuel pump problem

Well, that's a good question. The one that most sites say is compatible with 94 and 95, manufactured by US Motor Works, looks right, but doesn't have the return connection(this is the one I bought) and the plug is wrong. I did find one for 94 made by GMB that looks right in the pic, but they...

    Fuel pump problem

I'm in the tear down process of my recently acquired XJ. 1995 Country. I pulled the gas tank and removed the fuel pump. Gas tank was rusted and pump was gummed up so I ditched it and ordered a new tank and pump. Tank is fine, however, fuel pump was wrong. This model uses the side mount pump...

    Head Gasket replacement

Newby to the forum and Jeep XJ ownership. I recently acquired a 1995 Cherokee that had been sitting under a tree for the last year. Needless to say, it needs a little TLC(ok, a lot of TLC). I'm starting with the engine/drivetrain first. I figured I would tear the engine down and replace the head...
