For those that have this lift, how is the front 3 1/2" achieved? OME XJ springs with 1 inch spacer, WJ springs, TJ springs or? Website just says OME springs but no details. Maybe it depends on if your running a bumper/winch etc. Curious as to what yours came with. Could call Dirk, but can't...
What wheels do you have now? You can easily run 30x9.5r15lt on stock rims with stock BS with a 2 inch lift. I'm giving up my 16 inch Icons and restoring a set of stock 15 inch steel rims right now. I'll be running General AT/X 30x9.5r15lt's with a 2.5 inch OME lift. Going with the Generals...
All this discussion (forever) on normal XJ temp has interested me. When I bought my XJ the PO had a bad water pump so about a year before I bought it he replaced the water pump, installed a new radiator, a 195 degree thermostat, and a new clutch fan. He said it always ran hot until changing the...
For what it's worth I have the 16 inch Icons on my '96 and they fit perfect. I don't have 245/70r16's, but will be putting on 235/85r16's on soon. I know they work and about 1.3 inches larger diameter than the 245's. Before buying spacers (I hate spacers) concider replacing the lower control...
Thanks everyone. I did more research and I think they are the same.
Anak, I'll keep your offer in mind. Might have found a good used one close to home, going to check it out Thursday.
FYI, will be doing the vent tube modification at the same time to gain a few gallons.
So my shield is totally rusted and I haven't found a better used one, but noticed new ones for sale. They're listed as 97 - 01 but wondering if anyone knows if they fit 96 and older? Going to drop tank and replace hoses and roll over valves so wanting to replace shield as well...
Do the 2 door front seat frames have 2 frame pieces? In other words is there a base frame that bolts to the floor and a tilting frame that bolts to the bottom frame so it can tilt and latch. Been looking for pictures of the 2 door (95 and up) seat frame without any luck. I know there is a...
Make that 225/75r15 not 16.
Here's an excerpt from the build sheet.
Build To U.S. Mkt. Specifications
Payload Rating - 1800#
Federal Govt Bid - U.S.
Auxiliary Transmission Oil Cooler
Heavy Duty Engine Cooling
Heavy Duty Suspension
Full Size Spare Tire
P225/75R15 OWL Wrangler AT Tires
I had downloaded my build sheet a couple years ago and happened to look at it today again. It lists max payload at 1800#! From my research normal is 1150#. Mine did come with a trans cooler, HD cooling system, HD suspension, and 225/75r16 tires. I'm guessing because it's a USFS XJ, with the HD...
What am I doing? When I bought my XJ I was told it had a rear locker and well it did sort of. On the test drive on a mild trail it seemed obvious, but it acted more like a welded rear than a locker. The owner said he never pulled the cover since buying it and he was told it had a locker. He...
15x8 with 4.5 bs is 0 offset. With a 31x10.5 tire your scrub radius is 22mm from stock. Regardless of what most people say it will indeed affect handling.
I haven't checked it out yet. Hopefully Friday if I can arrange something. Spent last 3 days tearing out our master bath for a complete remodel. Oh what fun!
Sorry got no response in MJ section. Found a 1986 Comanche with 4.2, AX15, and NP231. Obviously not stock, just want to know if there any known issues with early MJ/XJ bodies with this combo. It's running a carb and he has 4.0 head for it. Was going to look at it if I have time.
Noticed an '86 for sale near me last night. Has 4.2 with 4.0 head, AX15, NP231. I know they didn't come that way so what did it take to make the swap? Might just go see it.
The number of holes may or may not make a difference, but the difference is minimal unless you're an OEM designing for emissions, mileage, performance, etc. Multi hole injectors are not necessarily better or worse. Nozzle design, hole pattern, fuel pressure, temperature, etc make a difference...
