As suggest, use a brass punch and give the metal wire core a few good hits. When the seal starts to come out you can pull it the rest of the way using needle nose plyers. I would also suggest buying 2 seal kits, because there is a good chance you will screw up installing the seal upper half.

I would highly reccomend the MT/R's. They are a bit more $$ than the BFG's but the sidewalls seem to get less cuts and they stick better to wet pavement .

Yeah, that sounds about right. I think it took me close to 2 hours the first time around, and about an hour the second time.

I just put the cover back on filled'er up with oil and just drove it hoping that it won't go boom :D On the first turn it made a really loud pop, and then it started working just fine.

I run Amsoil 10w30 along with an Amsoil filter. Works good for me.

Cherokee's have never been known for getting good gas mileage...especially modified ones. Learn to live with it ;) FWIW my 95 with 4.5 RE lift, 32's and 3.55 averages 12MPG in town and 17MPG on the highway.
