Hey folks.
After swapping to 1 ton steering, I’ve got some bump steer since the angles of the track bar is now more steep than the angle of the drag link. Wondering if I can mount the drag link on the top side of the pitman arm, or is that a no-no? Did the math and that would be enough to kill...
Good news, figured this out. Currie has stock ‘98 explorer rotors blanks that they will drill for 6x5.5. Kinda pricey at $80/rotor, but it bolts right in and fits as stock rotors.
Hey All -
Oddball situation. I swapped an explorer 8.8 into my XJ, complete with disc brakes. I just picked up a waggy 44 front end, and it's 6x5.5 bolt pattern. I'd like to get that same pattern on the 8.8 in the back. Dutchman axles can make me an axle for the 8.8 that is drilled for 6x5.5...
Hi all - out in the junkyard recently I found a tow package XJ and grabbed the cooler and lines (they had been cut - engine and trans both gone) off of it to install on my ‘00 classic.
Anyone have a diagram of the line routing with the factory tow trans cooler? Does it still use the heat...
Hey all -
I’ve got a ‘96 and a ‘00 XJ. 96 is super easy to change the fuel filter, inline on the subframe near the tank. The only filter I can find on the ‘00 is the one built into the pump assembly in tank. I’m putting in new injectors and would like to add an inline fuel filter to my ‘00 for...
Thanks, that makes sense. The seocndary side might just be bad to the #2 cyl, and fine to its partner cyl.
FWIW, I'm ditching the COP... such a pain. Just picked up the Ksuspensionfab viper coil mod, back to plug wires for this guy!
Hey All -
This 2000 is puzzling me. Came to me with a cracked head (0331), which I replaced with a TUPY reman. Good cylinder pressure and no vacuum leaks (tested both). Installed new plugs (Autolite APP895) while I was replacing the head.
Here's the puzzle - starts up, but has a consistent...
Hey all -
Just picked up a 2000 with a bad head, but rust free body. Already replaced the head with a TUPY casting and new gaskets/bolts, and now I'm on to fixing the "small" stuff.
Every door on this XJ seems to have the same issue - the outside button has to be pushed ALL the way in with...
Hi All -
I'm fabricating an aluminum fuel tank for my '96 after fabricating a 4-linked ford 8.8. The only aluminum fuel pump ring I can find is from GenRight (https://genright.com/products/fuel-pump-ring-1997-2004-tj-xj.html) and requires a swap to the '97+ fuel pump.
Has anyone swapped a...
Hey all -
New here. Just got an XJ - 96 with a 5 speed.
Given a sudden need to stay put (pandemic, etc), I've started digging into building it up. Pulled the floors to fabricate a new interior (4pt roll cage, rear seat elim, 2xbattery, new seats) and decided to do some more work now that the...
