When your a/c is on, does the compressor spin constantly, or does it cycle on and off? Your a/c system could be undercharged.

Thrush turbos aren't too loud, thrush weldeds are a bit louder, depends how loud you want it. A glasspack would be even louder but a lot quieter than straightpiped

Maybe you could drill and tap a hole in there for a grease zerk?
