    clutch removal and replacement

The surfaces of the clutch disc look pretty good to me, a little worn but not too bad, but the flywheel and pressure plate are both burned pretty bad. This tell me that someone in the past went cheap and just replaced the disc. Replace everything while you have torn down. The throwout bearing...

    OBDII coder reader not working

Congress mandated that all vehicles sold in the United States be OBD II compliant by January 1996. SO if his XJ is a 96, it is OBD II. If your reader is not working then your computer may be shot. Chris

    Music?

Yessir, this is all the music you need. I had the honor of meeting Chris several times, and it was an honor. He lived about 75 miles north of here and came to Casper a lot. One of the nicest, most down to earth gentleman you could ever meet. He is greatly missed around here. Chris

Yeah, I found my Chiltons and my Haynes that I bought years ago when I had an 85 XJ. I located where it is supposed to be at, now I gotta get to it. Dang Feds anyway, lol. At least the cat convertor is already gone. Gotta love living in an emissions free state. Chris

    Air/Fuel mixture screws?

Its got that Rochester 2 barrel they put on at the factory. I know HOW to adjust the screws, I just can't find the things. I've been working on engines for years and have adjusted many carbs in my time. It seems to me that they should be on the left side of the carb based on how it sits on the...

Re: Is it a WWI & WWII Colt. 1911 ?.......Need Info.......(Dial Up is going to suck) The serial number falls into the range of those made by the Springfield Armory but I don't have any dates for you. Value is anywhere between $550-2,575 depending on condition. Based on your pictures I would say...

    Air/Fuel mixture screws?

I recently purchased a 1986 XJ with the 2.8 carburated V6. The previous owner has replaced the carb with a rebuilt unit from a parts store. The Jeep runs really well but it is a little too rich. The choke needs adjusting which I can and will do but I also feel the mixture needs leaning out too...

    Belts

Get yourself a piece of string or twine. Wrap it around the pullies you will be using and tie it off semi-tightly, so you can remove it. Then take the string to your local, favorite parts house and tell them you need a belt that rough size. Chris

    lower radiator hose

You shouldn't need a spring in the hose. If it is sucking the hose closed without it you need to look as to why it is doing that instead of patching it. Chris

    This is killing me.

The TPS has absolutely nothing to do with whether an engine has spark. How about an ignition module, have you replaced that? Chris
