    Symptoms were just as described in SKIM failure. Runs for 3 secs then shuts down. The security module was replaced about 11 years ago. This car has been mine since it was 3 years old. I believe the security is the same as the US model just the signal is sent via fob not transponder key. The 96...

    no it's factory, not aftermarket. It is the norm here. pre 97 updates didn't have it. i will post a pic.

    It's a 4.0L petrol. Now I'm confused though. A SKIM is key controlled and resides near the ignition? My security is fob controlled and i have been told it is in the passenger door, under the dash, overhead console and near the handbrake. Got me beat... I can upload a pic of the ECU? (PCM?)
